Two bedrooms upstairs with a king and a queen bed, both with their own bathroom, plus loft on the third floor, with a queen bed and a trundle bed ( 2 singles), ample lanai space, washer and dryer in unit, large kitchen, sits on the island's southernmost point, with great complex amenities. Walking distance to two of Kauai's south shore pristine beaches Poipu Beach and Shipwrecks.

Perfect family getaway! The living and dining areas are spacious and breezy on the main floor, so your whole family will feel comfortable. Generous kitchen for cooking fabulous meals, and the lanai looks out over the ocean with a great view of remarkable sunsets every night. Please note this unit is on the third level and there is not an elevator, once inside the condo, there are three levels as well.

This was perfect for our party of 8. Two bedrooms, one had a king bed and the other had a queen, and a loft with a full bed and a day bed with a trundle. Note: this condo is on a second story with no elevator. The 2 bedrooms are up another flight of stairs, and the loft is up a 3rd set of stairs; so you get your exercise. There are two full bathrooms and a half bath with a washer and dryer. The fully stocked kitchen is nice to prepare food and relax in the living/ dining area.They even have beach towels (8) and beach chairs (I think 7 or 8) and sand toys and some snorkel sets (but only 1 pair of flippers). There was only one boogie board and it was about to fall apart.The condo is next to the ocean, but has lava rock and is too dangerous to swim. It's a few minute drive to Poipu beach where you can swim and snorkel, and if you go in the evenings you can usually see sea turtles!This is on the south side of Kauai, so if you want to do things on the north side you have to drive about an hour or more, depending on where you're going. We had a very fun stay and would highly recommend this unit. Thank you!

Just got back from a week at the Makahuena 1-303. Pros:* Good location, 15min walk to Poipu Beach. It's an uphill walk back. We just drove everyday. Restaurants, stores, within 10 min drive* Property grounds are we taken care ofCons: * The unit is much older than what's in the pictures. Different furniture, etc.* Completely broken beach umbrella. Shannon told me to go get one from Costco rather trying to help. I had to spend 1 1/2 hours to go back to Walmart by the airport to buy one. No reimbursement. * One of the toilets was leaking and kept running 24-7* Kitchen faucet is leaking and gets all over the counter. It also turns on by itself as it's loose.* The dryer kept shutting off after 15 min with a "Check Dryer Vent" light. Annoying when you have wet clothes. * WiFi router upstairs kept failing (red light)* After my brief conversation about the umbrella, I didn't even bother to report the other issues as I did not want to spend my vacation time waiting for service and repairs, we just dealt with it. Would I stay here again? Yes if I was better informed and needed accommodations for 5 people. No if it was just my wife and daughter.Recommendation for management: * Accurately represent your property* Help rather then provide answers with no resolution, where's the Aloha spirit? Hope this honest review helps someone out! Cheers!

This place was fantastic! 3 levels, 2 3/4 bathroom. Easy access to anywhere near the south side of the island. Very clean. Internet worked well. Easy access to Shipwreck Beach for the best sunrise on the island.Reminder***bring your own shopping bags for groceries otherwise you’ll have to buy them at the grocery store.

The first night we got there were issues with the AC in one room and I guess a random termite swarm. The owner sent the cleaners the next morning and the AC guy to fix it. There was mold in the shower and giant layer of dust in the fan. We are glad they were able to address these issues. The rest of the stay went great. The condo is just like it looks in the pictures and the view from the balcony is great. (Side note: there isn't an elevator which I think is pretty common here but we didn't realize this and it was hard to carry our bags up and down but wasn't a issue other than the first and last day)

Relaxing place

This condo was great for our family plus grandma. Having two bedrooms plus the loft gave us space to spread out and the large dining table was good for meals and playing games. We used the cooler every day on our car trips around the island.

Great stay. Easy walk to the beach, plenty of room for our family of 5 (teen and adults). Great communication by property management and very reasonably priced. Also close to pool and hot tub. Definitely recommend!

All our dreams came true

This apartment was fantastic- met all our needs and then some for our Kauai vacation. As soon as you open the door you can hear the ocean crashing and we spent several sunrises and sunsets visiting the waves just a few steps away.The apartment itself had everything we needed. It was comfortable, well appointed, and blissfully air conditioned. We were so pleased with everything about our stay. Just as advertised!

Property met our needs and AC a great amenity! Condo was comfortable but could use an update in decor to make it more pleasant for a vacation stay. Could use a better more thorough cleaning between guests. Location on the island is great.

Perfect Location

Our stay was lovely. The location was so close to PoiPu and the point next door offered a stunning area to watch whales and the sunrise/sunsets. The unit was great for our party of four adults and four kids. The AC worked well. The unit was fairly well stocked. The WiFi was good for some work. Could use some TLC for some cosmetic updates, but even then I would highly recommend this location. Communication with the property managers was smooth, prompt and efficient.

4.5 star! Had everything we needed but could have been more comfortable with small kids.

We (3 adults, 4 kids age 3-8) stayed for 7 daysPros: Really effective AC and fans, kitchen with the basics, comfy beds, a ton of towels, beach toys, etc. Property manager was responsive. The exterior was well maintained had wonderful views for the sunset Check out procedure was so simple that I felt like I was missing something.Without small kids, I wouldn't have had any major issues, but as a parent I would've liked to know the following:The condo was a long way from the parking lot, down a ramp and up two flights of stairs. Getting 4 kids to/from the car with groceries and stuff was a huge hassle. There weren't very many kid friendly (unbreakable) dishes, and not enough bowls in general). Most of the tables seemed to require coasters, and the sinks were too tall for most of the kids to use without help. Pocket doors with slats for bathrooms made privacy difficult. Minor cons: knives were dull, one of the bedroom TVs was missing its cable remote and streaming services didn't seem to work on it, the numbers on the stove were faded beyond legibility, and the range hood buttons seemed barely to work. None of these were particularly inconvenient, but still. No on site recycling besides redeemable cans and bottles and corrugated cardboard. Maybe that's common here? We had to load the rest of the recycling into our car and drive it down the road. Overall a comfortable place!

2nd time staying here

We absolutely adore the location and the convenience of getting around the island. The unit features air conditioning and a fully equipped kitchen, making it feel almost like being at home, yet in a paradise setting.
