Hotel in zona Kumara, Greymouth

“At the time of writing, this hotel has a 9.2 on Expedia. That is truly absurd. This hotel is old (they don’t call it “historic” for nothing) and run down (featuring peeling wallpaper, a saggy matress, threadbare carpet and a kitchen that looks like it was built in the 80s). Making things worse, there is literally not a single thing of interest in Kumara (it only exists because it is a stop on the West Coast Wilderness Trail). “ Very nice - clean comfortable bedroom and nice common areas. Breakfast offerings were much more than we needed/wanted. The yogurt, fruit and toast were great. Coffee was a bit weak (but we prefer strong coffee or a flat white)”

“This was a lovely property just what we needed and in a good location for town. The cleaning staff were absolutely lovely and very friendly and helpful. We loved the modern feel to the place and appliances whilst paying homage to it’s historical past as a fire station- highly recommend ”

“We were given an unexpected room upgrade from one triple to two ocean view rooms on arrival. The delicious dinners were offered on the covered patio overlooking the extensive flowering gardens and the ocean before our hosts treated us to an amphibious beach buggy ride at sunset. We finished the day relaxing in the hot tub. Wonderful day. They made it so easy to include everything they offered. Would highly recommend to anyone. ”

“Abbiamo trascorso 2 notti nella struttura, il personale è stato gentile e premuroso (ci hano oferto il latte per la colazione...salvo poi accorgerci che era scaduto!!). La camera era un miniappartamento, con cucina e stoviglie, pulito e ben tenuto. Seppur in fianco alla SH6 è silenzioso, ha il posto macchina di fronte alla camera, ha la lavanderia e anche l'accesso al Mar di Tasmania...comodo nella giusta stagione!”

“Very dated hotel. The room was not well kept with a very dated bathroom. Most surprisingly, it only included a fan. Surely, there are nicer places to stay in Greymouth. The staff was nice but I would never stay here again.”

“We booked spa bath room, but sadly we got studio room instead. I rechecked with reception. She apologized and gave 5$ back from different room price because of fully booked tonight. Room is large space, separate toilet, clean and providing as standard motel. Location is close to glow worm dell in 400m walk. Also, walkable to the beach and shops”
