“It was pouring with rain when we arrived, so we really appreciated having the carport and entry cover, so we didn’t get soaked hauling our luggage in. Great for a 1nt stay on our way from Wellington to the Coromandel. Because of the weather the Coromandel didn’t happen, but that’s a whole other story! ”

“Room was clean and had a nice courtyard patio. There is a walkway toward the lakefront where there is a trail for miles. The hotel management is super responsive and helpful. We stayed just one night and didn’t use the pool or hot tub ”

“Fantastic location for a hotel right on Lake Taupo. Run by a lovely couple, very friendly and helpful. Rooms are large with large windows opening to a wonderful view of the lake. Parking is provided by can be a challenge when hotel is full. Would definitely stay again. ”

“We had a fabulous three nights at Clearwater. We loved being right beside the lake and had a beautiful panoramic view from our unit. The setting was very restful - just what we needed. The Clearwater staff were very friendly and helpful, the bed was comfortable, and the shower and in-room spa were great. (Fantastic pressure in the shower!) The motor lodge is only a quick drive (or a nice walk) into town for coffee, shopping, activities and takeaway meals, and we also went down to Rainbow Point...
