The biggest surprise was the Saturday nights entertainment with a local group playing all the classics. Rooms in keeping with the traditional vibe that goes with the rest of the hotel. ”

“From the first welcome to the final farewell, it was a joy to stay there. Substantive breakfasts, pet friendly, old manor house setting with great views. Good choice of relatively local (less than 10 miles) public houses for evening fare. Already hoping to get back there when next visiting the Lakes, which start only six miles north.”

“Beautiful hotel and facilities. We loved our room - the bathroom was amazing! Heating and hot water broke on Friday so shower/bath was lukewarm and cold room. which spoiled our evening a little, unfortunately. Staff were lovely and resolved it ready for the next day/eve. Breakfast was wonderful on Sat/Sunday with great choice and quality. Surrounding area is beautiful and we made use of the chauffeur service to come back from our evening at the gorgeous (and highly recommended) Royal Oak...

“Beautiful location, lovely breakfasting room and public interiors. Very tasteful. Very good outside areas too even though the actual outside area was quite compact . It worked. The room was tastefully done and quiet, however the ensuite was rather small, beside the fields. Lots of wildlife. The only point I would make is that the dustbin lorry stopped then went right past my window at 6am. as did an early delivery. Luckily I was already awake . Breakfast was lovely. Everything was spotless and...
