Carrie's Cottage - Charming Duplex Style 3 Bedroom Cottage with Beach Access!

Carrie's Cottage is a duplex style cottage in Harbor Country that has two distinct sides perfect for group gatherings (both are included for the low nightly rate)! One side features three bedrooms, two full baths, full kitchen and MASSIVE great room ideal for hosting larger groups! The other side is a "studio" style set up with a third private full bathroom, and small kitchenette. The two units are separate and are both rented at booking unless otherwise requested. Each unit has it's own private entrance. The house has a large FENCED yard has mature trees, fire pit, and ample space to relax and hang out!

Short 5 min walk (less than 1/4 mile) to semi private beach (shared with 8 other homes) with TWO kayaks provided! We are located on a bluff so there are approximately 50 stairs down to the beach which may be diffucult for guests with health or joint issues. There is one rest bench along the way. Beach and bath towels NOT provided. No laundry facilities on site (laundromat about 1/2 mile away). Please note location of the property on map to Red Arrow Highway and train tracks. Train passes daily at approximately at 8a, 11a, 2p, and 8p. Pets must be crated whenever left unsupervised.

Really liked the layout, the added privacy of the studio was great though it could use a microwave, table or desk and a place to put clothes. The beach is great and the kayaks are a great added bonus.

This is our second time renting Carrie's Cottage and we absolutely love it. Perfect location to visit all the cute towns in this part of Michigan, walking distance to a beautiful beach, and plenty of space for adults and young children. We hope to be back again!

Excellent stay, location is great, getting to the beach was tricky at first, and getting back up is difficult because of the dunes. Loved being off of the red arrow made it very easy to walk my dogs

Family gathering at the lake

The great room was perfect for hosting our large family gathering. The beach was close by and incredible. We appreciated having access to all the beach chairs and sand toys.

Really nice owners who were very attentive to our needs . Beach down the road and beautiful. Lawn chairs available . Individual room air conditioners which sometimes blasted the air continuously was the only negative. Thanks for a lovely stay

Relaxing Family Vacation

We enjoyed our stay ay Carrie's Cottage, there was plenty of room in the great room for everyone to gather. The fenced in backyard allowed for the kids to safely play outside. Spacious deck for family barbeque nights. Beautiful private beach access is available. Enjoy!

Perfect escape with pets

This was a 4 day getaway to relax. While there is no water view from the property, a short walk and some steps led us to the perfect semiprivate beach. There were umbrellas, chairs and 2 kayaks available to use. Despite it being mid September, the water was swimmable and the temps were high 80s. We brought our dogs with us and they loved swimming in the water. I can't speak to how busy it is during the peak summertime, but we had the entire stretch to ourselves. Loved that! We got to meet the property owner's dad who lives nearby. He was the greatest! He told us of a great pizza place (Villa Rosa), checked in to make sure we didn't need anything. He was available without being intrusive and we really appreciated how he looked out for us. We had not brought towels and he furnished them for us. The place was comfortable and had everything we needed to cook. The beds were comfortable. It could easily have held 7-11 people. We didn't stay in the studio part but it was adorable. My only complaint was with loud/older air conditioning units when trying to sleep, but they served their purpose. I used ear plugs without a problem, which I bring when I travel anyway. The host was communicative and helpful, and again, her dad made our stay even better with his kindness and how he looked out for us. We would stay there again for sure!

Great for a Beach Weekend!

The location was great, with several restaurants, walking trails, and the beach very close by. The lawn was a bit overgrown, and we had a little trouble with the locking mechanism, but overall we had a great time! The beach access was a quick walk with easy instructions, the chairs were a great touch, and the rooms were all comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

A disappointing stay

This property is undergoing renovations. Needs a good weed wacking all around the perimeter of house. Inside was dirty with lots of dog hair on furniture. Kitchen equipped with very wornout teflon coated pots and pans. We dealt with ants in the kitchen (owners brought ant traps which helped) and MANY big flies in the suite. Nothing was done to help alleviate that problem. No hot water in the suite bathroom. We would not stay at this house again.

Hidden gem / pleasant surprise - will return!

We had a small family reunion over the 4th of July - and this place ended up being a perfect arrangement! Great deck and fenced in backyard with large shade trees allowed us to spend every waking hour outside, comfortably, with pets. While located on Red Arrow Highway, noise was not a problem for us and this property has unique beach access privileges - which we very much leveraged. Owner was present and helpful / accomodating. We had a great stay!

Just right

The home was clean and roomy with everything we needed. I like the suite with the separate entrance for some peace and quiet from the younger part of the group! The beach was absolutely beautiful and just a short walk away, but prepare for a tough hike back, all uphill, when you’re done! Nearby New Buffalo was a gorgeous beach town with shops and restaurants aplenty! Its public beach was also lovely! We had a great trip, thank you!

Nice Place

The place was clean, with plenty of hot water and decent water pressure. The beds are comfortable and everyone slept well. We were not disturbed by the trains. The wood pile was very nice. Paul, one of the owners, was very helpful. He was the right combination of helpful and available, but not intrusive. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Friends and family in town for a wedding

We drank beer by the fire, hung out on the deck, cooked breakfasts, drank coffee and went to the lakeshore! Great location to our wedding venue at Blissful Barn. Bakeries, antique shopping was so much fun! This place has provided us with a great memory of friends and family. Our dog was comfortable too! Host Paul was very kind and accommodates us well!

Great Location and good for families

This is a great location and was a good place for our family to gather for the weekend. The place was clean and we enjoyed the open room. Close to the private beach access and walkable to food. The new owners are working on providing additional amenities but a great place to relax with family.

Carrie’s Cottage stay was a Dream!

We so enjoyed our stay at Carrie’s Cottage, the Beach access was wonderful! We enjoyed the walk & even the stairs, were great exercise! The Beach is BEAUTIFUL! Great communication! Property is just as pictured. Not fancy, but clean & close walk to the Beach! It was just the solitude we were looking for.
