Log Cabin/ w hot tub, outdoor pool & pool table

Charming 4 bed/ 2 bath cabin nestled in the hills of Northeast Iowa just South of Lansing Iowa. Brand New Outdoor Hot Tub Jacuzzi, and swimming pool. Galley kitchen with custom cabinets and built-in desk. Enjoy the warm atmosphere and natural light of the open eating area, great room with vaulted ceilings. The cabin features a bedroom and bath on main floor; bedroom and additional sleeping area with another bedroom & bath on upper level. Hide-a-bed sofa on Main Floor & Rec Room with Additional bedroom and Queen futon in Main area. Other outside amenities include a stamped covered front porch, large patio perfect for outdoor entertaining, and outdoor firepit, indoor wood stove, & pool table. Within easy driving distance to Waukon, Harpers Ferry or Prairie du Chien. Close to the Mississippi River, Yellow River State Forest, Effigy Mounds and many other outdoor recreational locations. Sleeps up to 14.

Hot tub is available all year round.
Pool is open Memorial day to Labor Day weekend.
2 night minimum stay for weekends & holidays in winter-
3 night minimum stay for weekends in summer ( memorial day weekend to labor day weekend ).
- Pet fee is per pet.
-propane for grill and firewood are not provided with this rental. Please bring your own firewood/buy it in local town. There will be a tank at property that can be filled in town as well.

Refrigerator in kitchen would not stay cold, spoiled food and milk soured over night. Lady bugs overwmed the inside of the house. Ceiling fan in living room has a short and light blinks all the time. Ceiling fan in pool table room would not come on. Most vacuums did not work or had broken plugs. Algae build up on rug by pool and hot tub was very slippery. Both coffee pots would not stay hot. General maintenance outside could definitely be improved kind of dirty and unappealing. Pros: Beds were very comfortable and the shampoo, conditioner and body wash were very nice. Overall we had a nice family weekend despise the things listed above.

It was a nice, relaxing stay. The pictures make it look like their is a long driveway so I thought it might be more secluded but it's right by the road. I was hoping my dogs would be able to run more freely but they weren't. They still had fun wandering around the property. Everything else was amazing and beautiful!

Fun family friend stay

Needs grounds keeping

Nice, quiet and enjoyable. Needs some TLC outside, especially around the hot tub and pool area was unkept. Didnt have code to property so i had to call to get it. The mattress in the bedroom across from the main bathroom needs replacement. Would plan a family weekend there , lots of roombathroom

Quiet and enjoyable

Stayed a couple nights for relaxing getaway with my wife. Peaceful location to chillout. The additional pool table and games were nice things to do. The hot tub was perfect to sit back and relax in. All in all, everything was provided (except a hair dryer) as you would expect. Overall, great experience.

Weekend stay

We stayed for the weekend with friends. The kids loved the loft area! The area was quiet and secluded but just a short drive to town. Good communication with the host, quick to respond, easy check in and out.

Disappointed

Under supplied with dishwasher and hand washing soaps,paper towels,toilet paper and other essentials for a group of 11. Electricity was out for 6 hours,no water,no flushing toilets.I know that was out of their control but no offer of any help or guidance luckily we had a bucket and took water out of the pool to flush toilets ,went 14 miles to town to buy lanterns . Our family made the best of it but was disappointed

Mother's Day getaway

My husband rented this for us as a Mother's Day getaway. We had a great time bonding with our kids (15 and 12) over pool. We relaxed in the hot tub before going to check out the Northern Lights. We had plenty of space to hang out together but also to have our own space to relax from a hectic week. We had a great time learning to play some of the board games provided. We ended up needing to bring our dog, so we brought her kennel along. There was plenty of space to put it as well. We loved that it was a secluded place to just hang out and unwind, but also was so close to necessities.

Relaxing family getaway

My family and I stayed at the cabin for almost a week. We enjoyed some of the local sights, kayaking the yellow river and each day came back to enjoy each others company in the roomy cabin. The pool table, pool and hot tub were perfect bonuses after kayaking and hiking and a great way to unwind and spend time together. The local town of Lansing had everything we needed and some nice little shops. We would definitely like to return again!

Very Peaceful

This house was super peaceful. We enjoyed the hillside, watching the deer come across the yard, and there was a hot tub! The location is super convenient also. Only four miles into town, and hour to the major town, and 25 minutes to Effigy National Monument. We did a lot of hiking. Thank you for sharing this home. This was exactly what we needed for a vacation.
