We booked this place last minute and truly wanted to enjoy our stay, but it ended up being stressful from the start. Right when we arrived, we were told the host had double-booked us, which immediately created unnecessary stress. Then we found a live scorpion inside the bedroom, which was terrifying—especially with our dogs and child there, since a sting could’ve seriously harmed them. I understand scorpions exist in the desert, but finding one inside where we sleep is unacceptable. When we reached out, the host’s response felt defensive and implied we wanted a free stay, though they did issue a partial refund. After leaving, we received payment requests for towels even though the bathroom leaked, the floor felt soft and spongy, and the shower wouldn’t drain, causing the towels to get wet from mopping up water. The place didnt match the photos and pool didnt even seem sanitary to get in and we were also rushed to check out before noon which only left us with 1 hour to get all of our stuff out of the house so their cleaning crew could come in early even though we had the reservation for two more days. Between the double-booking, scorpion, bathroom issues, poor communication, and extra charges, the whole experience was disappointing and not worth the stress.Sharing this so future guests—especially with pets or kids—know what to expect.
