“A quiet, clean hotel on the waterfront in Scalloway. The staff were pleasant and attentive, and answered our questions about the area. The hotel has a good restaurant on prem, with a good, varied menu. There is a convenience store a few steps away that carries various food and drink, as well. No downsides to staying here. I recommend it.”

“We spent two nights here and loved it. The friendliness of the staff combined with the professionalism of the chef made it a start to remember. Dog owners: although dogs are not welcome in the general areas, the hotel grounds are great and lead straight to the shingle beach. Plenty for the muppet to sniff and lots of rabbits to chase.”

“The week we spent at Voortrekkers Lodge, Levenwick, was an absolutely marvellous experience. The spectacular view from the lodge, the hospitality and friendliness of the hosts and the cosy, clean accomodation all contributed to a wonderful holiday away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We adored the goats and the almost-goat-sheep at our front door! Thank you, Niki and Piet, we are surely planning to come back some day. Maybe I will even try the smoked, freshly caught fish then...”
