“The listing indicated pets were welcome and we were able to bring our 13 year old dog, who loves traveling with my husband and I. There was some initial confusion after we booked the Schoolhouse, saying pets are prohibited. Through contact with the host, it was cleared up pretty quickly. All in all, the place was comfortable and we had what we needed to cook a couple of meals. I loved the area and enjoyed walking our dog on the state-maintained back roads. “We normally travel in a motorhome and don't stay in hotels much. But we had a short trip, so decided to stay at Spark by Hilton in Winchester, VA. We had stayed there before. The room was very nice but was surprised by the lack of a electrical outlet next to the bathroom sink for an electric toothbrush, etc. I really liked that the front desk texted me to see how our stay was going (nice touch). The first night, there was a loud, continuous commotion in our hallway and the room next door. ...

“Room was spotless and spacious. Breakfast was excellent with everything fresh and in abundance. TV had poor to few selection of premium channels”

“No elevator, so for older people a lot of steps. Outside building entry doors had key pad locks but were never locked, anyone could walk into building.”

“Clean hotel, nice big pool. Close to many restaurants. Hotel has been recently updated inside, nicer inside than the outside. Breakfast was descent- eggs, sausage, waffles and some other quick items.”

“Very disappointed as we have stayed here before but this time was not good. Our floor was terribly dirty, didn't have enough towels, the room looked as if had been partially remodeled but was not finished, and the pool was closed. Not worth the money and we won't be back the next ti.e we are in the area to visit.”
