I’m not one to leave negative reviews out of spite. I genuinely believe in “you get what you pay for” and usually keep quiet if I don’t have something nice to say. But in this case, I feel compelled to be honest.
The Fallon Hotel is old. Not “charming historic” old, but more like my grandmother’s house that hasn’t seen an update since the 1950s. Think clawfoot tubs, single-socket outlets, pull-chain 40-watt bulbs, separate hot and cold faucets, and drafty wood-frame windows. It looks like there are some efforts at renovation, but it feels very budget-driven and incomplete.
The bed was surprisingly comfortable, but that was the one bright spot in a room that otherwise felt old, worn, and noisy. When I woke up in the morning, I didn’t have any urge to relax or linger; it was more like, pack up and get out as quickly as possible.
If you’re looking for basic lodging and don’t mind an environment that’s truly dated, this place might work. But if you’re expecting comfort, charm, or even a modestly updated room, you’ll likely be disappointed.
