The Neighborhood:
The elegant and picturesque district of Bayswater sits just to the north of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, in a green and verdant part of western central London. Apart from perusing the many small independent shops and boutique outlets, you can admire the listed 1930s architecture of the art deco Whitleys building, with its magnificent spiraling staircase. Just to the south of the tube station is the beautiful Kensington Gardens and Kensington Palace, home to Prince WIlliam and Kate. The palace is open to the public throughout the year and as a very pleasant cafe attached with wonderful views of the gardens. Take a stroll around neighbouring Hyde Park and rent a boat for a row or pedal on the Serpentine or take in some art in the Serpentine Gallery.

When it comes to eating and drinking, the tasteful yet down to earth area of Bayswater will not disappoint. Rodizio Preto serves delicious hot Brazilian meat dishes, while you can enjoy an authentic slice of Naples at the Italian Pizza Connection, with bread baked fresh on site each day. Finally, Hereford Road, a former butchers shop, serves up a rotating menu of top quality British cuisine. Getting Around:
Bayswater station is for Circle and District Lines, 1 minute walk away; Queensway station for Central Line, 4 mins away. Notting Hill for the above 3 lines, 7 minutes walk. Lots of buses along Queensway and into town from Bayswater Road. The Citymapper app is highly recommended for help getting around! Alternatively, city taxis and Uber cars are easy to find.
