“Breakfast was only ok, ran out of eggs, I didn’t see anyone monitoring or managing it. Our room was clean and comfortable.”

“T he room was clean. Facility was also well maintained both inside and out. The beds were a bit too soft.Staff was pleasant. We didn't have breakfast there because the cost of the room was high and we would have to also pay for breakfast. We decided to have breakfast at friends house.”

“Staff was very friendly but room was filthy. Carpet clearly hadn't been vacuumed as we found jewelry pieces and food on the floor. Walls were chipped and peeling, carpet had heavy stains and bathroom floor had large gaps between flooring pieces.”

“The space was just what we needed to rest in the summertime while my kids went to camp at the Brandywine Battlefield. We did have an AC system that did not work until the next to last day and we were given another room. Other than that the pool was great, the breakfast was great, and the hotel was clean.”

“The Bookhouse is a wonderful concept! Prioritizing books, making them accessible everywhere, is delightful. There were adventurous and playful touches, including the secret hide-away on the first floor, behind a bookcase. Housing a hotel in a very old house is another terrific choice. The restoration process is clearly in progress; it's understandable that it's a long-term project. Drawbacks were largely fixable. Whatever scent is used in the house, apparent on the threshold, overwhelming...

“First, the front desk staff are nice but they did not give me a smoke free room as requested. The smell was so bad I immediately had to take all my belongings to laundry after checking out. Thank goodness I was only there 2 nights and I didn’t bring a lot of clothing. They did not offer to move me to another room after I told them about the smell. A roach crawled out of the drain while I was showering. Only a few channels work on the television. As the saying goes “you get what you pay for” but...

“Esternamente bello, dentro le camere sono carine, ma la pulizia lascia desiderare, molta polvere. Oltre a ciò le pareti leggere, se avrete vicini rumorosi, sentirete tutto. La piscina è indecente!.. Situata tra le mura dell'edificio, acqua verde (sporca), l'esterno anche, le sudario disordinate e rotte. Insomma, una piscina abbandonata che nessuno mantiene pulita e ordinata, quindi nessuno la può utilizzare.. ”
