Cabina del castello verde sul fiume Shenandoah

Annidata in una collina sulle rive del fiume Shenandoah, questa cabina è stata costruita appositamente per le vacanze lungo il fiume. Puoi rilassarti e chiacchierare con gli amici nella veranda protetta o marshmallow arrosto intorno alla vicina buca per il fuoco ascoltando il fiume in background. Legna da ardere secca e impilata è disponibile per l'uso a un piccolo costo. All'interno, troverete una cucina completamente attrezzata che sfocia nella zona pranzo e un soggiorno completo di TV satellitare e via cavo e camino a gas. Dall'accogliente zona giorno, si ha una vista meravigliosa sul cortile e sul fiume attraverso la bella parete della finestra. Riposati da una giornata trascorsa godendoti i grandi spazi aperti in una delle tre comode camere da letto o su una sedia sul grande ponte con vista sul fiume. La cabina dispone anche di pavimenti e rivestimenti in legno, soffitto della cattedrale nella zona giorno e pavimenti in piastrelle nei moderni bagni completamente arredati. All'esterno, c'è una griglia a gas per grigliare gli hamburger, un grande cortile aperto e - ne abbiamo parlato? - la sponda del fiume in modo da poter guadare subito o prendere le canoe con facilità.

NOTA BENE: il costo opzionale della legna da ardere di $ 10 / notte è per la legna da ardere per il focolare all'aperto. (Il camino interno di questa struttura è a gas.) Se non pensi di usare la legna da ardere o vorresti portarne una tua, faccelo sapere! Siamo più che felici di rimborsartelo.

The cabin was in a beautiful location right on the river and near a pond that we drove to for fishing and kayaking. The river was extremely high due to recent rains, but we did manage to catch some fish and enjoy a tube float. The Wi-Fi was appreciated, because we didn't get any cell service in the area on Verizon. I do wish the hosts provided shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, because there isn't a place to pick some up nearby, so that seemed like a critical amenity to have on hand. We had to run back to Luray to get some. It was a lovely relaxing family vacation!

It was a nice comfy cabin and met all our needs. Unfortunately the nearby trail was blocked by a fallen tree but everything else was wonderful. It could be easier to get to the river.

Great stay!!

This house was the perfect spot for a long getaway with friends! The open floor plan on the first floor is great for hanging out and the views are perfect with the windows surrounding it! I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent stay on the Shenandoah River South Fork

This cabin is prime real estate for floating the south fork on Luray. There is a public boat launch 8 miles up the road where you launch, and then float one of the best parts of the Shenandoah River back to the cabin. It is very beautiful here!!

Very Nice but Pics Need updating

I rated this lower because of the view and river access. Online the pics show a better view, but it has grown up (underbrush) A LOT and a fallen/dead tree is blocking a good portion of the river view. I was also disappointed in the access to the water. Although the description didn't mention easy water access I had hoped it would be easier. I fell trying to get down the steep slope and I feel I am a pretty active/flexible/rugged woman. If you are going mainly to relax with a view you get a better view on the deck but it is a small window compared to the pictures and definitely limited even more on the ground. Inside the home was nice.

Dirty Green Castle

The poor house cleaning prior to our arrival was an unexpected vacation start. It was dirty enough to make a trip into town for cleaning supplies which were left behind for the cleaning crew, all tables, countertops, kitchen appliances furniture tops had to be cleaned. Spiders don't bother me however if you're not willing to invest in pest control sprays then be prepared to remove spider webs as part of cleaning the cabin. We removed most all of the spider webs inside the cabin on the window wall, ceiling fan and light fixtures. It was also obvious that previous guests had a dog, his nose prints were all over every lower window, we chose not to wash windows. The screen porch was the joke of the week, I pulled the vacuum cleaner out as there were literally hundreds of dead house flies at the bottom of the walls, the light fixture is half full of dead insects. There's so much spider web buildup on the ceiling fan we were taking bets on if it would rip itself off the ceiling. The topper was having a screen porch with NO Doors! It was a useless space after the sun went down. The hot tub has a problem and the jets don't work much at all, we did try it once but again no power from the jets and lots of sand on the inside were you sit. We only used one canoe, the second one has a lot of damage and looks like it will probably take on water. We enjoyed the location of the camp, it worked great for all our families activities. If you don't like spiders, this cabin isn't for you.

Perfect Shenandoah Getaway

This is an excellent property and location for All accommodations. They family enjoyed the stay here, as they got to experience the outdoors while still having the comforts of home. I'm looking forward to another getaway...soon 😌🙌

Family bonding

Family of four, two kids ages 8 and 9. My husband just returned from a deployment on a ship and the first thing he wanted to do was stay here and enjoy the great outdoors. We stayed for 7 days, the same week hurricane Ian hit Florida. We ended up getting 6 days of rain/mist/fog/overcast weather, but we didn't let ruin our trip. We still managed to walk a few trails in Shenandoah, mini golf and go carts in Massanutten, and visited Luray Caverns. We ended up cooking at the house most nights, the kitchen was fully equipped to make homemade meals and grill every night. We played board games every night, but make sure you bring them from home or stop at the local Walmart. The house was clean and well maintained outside too. We just wish the weather cooperated during our trip.

Good break

Great place to stay. Quiet, relaxing long weekend by the river. A few insects in the porch enclosure, but to be expected at this time of year. Cabin clean and tidy. Booking process worked really well. Would love to come back :)

Great getaway for a long weekend

We really enjoyed the house. It had plenty of room for our family and it was equipped as advertised. We loved the closeness to the river. Our dog had a blast running around the yard. Overall the stay was relaxing as we had hoped.

Very Relaxing and private Beautiful view of the Shenandoah river!!

Very Clean We enjoyed the firepit, hottub, screened porch, and deck overlooking the river!! Inside the cabin was very clean and we appreciated the amenities in the Kitchen , bath, & bedroom. Definitely on our list to return to again!!

Great getaway!

The location was great. The house was set away from other houses. The house was in great shape with had great views of the Shenandoah River. Only slight issue was that the beds were hard, but some like that. So, overall it’s still a 5 out of 5.

Beautiful Grounds - Nice getaway

Cabin was nice enough- river and views were really nice. The whole family had a grt time and enjoyed the fire pit and canoes and indoor fireplace. Cable and internet were good enough. My only issue with the house is it really wasn’t that clean. I have a dust allergy and the dust bunnies were in every corner of the house. For a house that had a lot of rules about leaving it clean on departure I think they could have made it cleaner on arrival. Just my opinion. Overall nice and I would consider returning in the future.
