Waterfront, 2 bed 1 bath cabin on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River

This beautiful cabin is located on the scenic Shenandoah riverfront minutes from Luray, Virginia. It is also located across the road from the George Washington National Forest. You can relax on the screened in gazebo, enjoy fishing, canoeing, kayaking or tube down the river, BBQ and picnic along the riverside, or hike the nearby trails of the George Washington National Forest. Truly a great place for a memorable vacation.

Completely renovated on the inside in 2015 and updated in 2021. The cabin has a FULLY stocked kitchen, bathroom, hardwood floors, and is painted throughout. We have adorned the living room with a 55-inch flat screen TV.

Come to rest, relax, have fun and take pleasure in nature's finest wonders. Our log cabin is the perfect choice to experience an unforgettable vacation or romantic escape.

We are convenient to: Shenandoah River, Luray Caverns, Skyline Drive, Skyline Caverns, George Washington National Forest, and the Shenandoah National Park.

We spent five nights at this wonderful cabin and absolutely loved our stay. The cabin is spotless, cozy, and so well stocked, it truly feels like someone’s home. Every kitchen tool and supply you could think of is there, which made cooking easy and enjoyable.The location is peaceful and private, perfect if you like being off the beaten path and surrounded by nature. We had a couple of small things come up during our stay (nothing bad!) and the owner responded right away every time, which we really appreciated.Honestly, the photos don’t do this place justice. It’s even more beautiful and spacious in person. We were so comfortable the entire stay and didn’t want to leave. Highly recommend this cabin, we would definitely stay again!

This was our 3rd stay here, and it was as wonderful as before. The cabin is beautiful and cozy with well-appointed touches, the beds are comfortable, and the outdoor spaces to enjoy all of the beautiful surroundings abound- from the deck, to the screened in porch, to the fire pit just steps away from the river and the gorgeous views of the mountains…Tom is a great host and responsive to any questions or needs. And there were many items supplied for the kayaker and canoe enthusiasts to enjoy being in and on the river - we are just old timers who enjoy soaking in the beautiful views and sounds on dry land lol. Highly recommend this cabin-it won’t disappoint!

We stayed for 5 nights total and we all wish we could stay longer. The cabin is right on the river and plenty of activities to do on the property. Cabin is well stocked with supplies for you to cook out all day if that’s what you choose. We loved fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, tubing, and exploring the area. You can tell the hosts put a lot of effort into the cabin and want their guests to have a good time. If we come back this way to Virginia, we will be back.

Cabin was fantastic with great amenities! Section of the river is great for kids to wade and play in. Water shoes recommended if you want to walk around easier. We had a blast on our stay!

Fantastic Cabin on the River

This cabin was the perfect place for our Thanksgiving getaway. It was very well stocked with everything we needed for cooking our Turkey dinner. Such a quaint cabin with comfortable beds and living area sofas to sit by the gas fireplace. We also enjoyed sitting outside by the firepit roasting marshmallows. Can't wait to come back again in warmer weather. Don't miss out on this gem!! by the fire

Wonderful property

Location,location, location. What a nice timber beam house located right on the Shenandoah River. House has all the kitchen tools you would ever need . Very clean and comfortable . Charcoal grills , fire pit and a ton of firewood for all your outdoor adventures. Canoes , paddles , life jackets for those so inclined. Just wonderful.

Great place for a getaway to unplug!

This property is quite lovely! The location on the river is spectacular and the host has provided many thoughtful touches to make sure that your stay is easy. The kitchen is well equipped, and the furniture in the house is comfortable. Communication was good and we felt that the property was well represented online. The outside facilities and location are what you really go for! When we went, the guys in our group were able to wade out to waste deep or higher water and fish without any issue. Everyone had a great time and we very much enjoyed the fire pit at night. The walkway as well lit and there were special touches like motion lights that come on to keep you on path. I found this to be one of the better stocked VRBO kitchens and the refrigerator is quite spacious. The owner even provides two Britta water, which we definitely appreciated. The only real downside, if you could call it that that we found was that the location is somewhat remote so your Wi-Fi and cell service definitely are not what you would expect in town. There is a landline in case of an emergency. We discovered towards the end of our trip that if only one person was on the Wi-Fi, we were able to log onto our Netflix account and stream, but otherwise we had a lot of difficulty - apparently, the teenagers had too many devices! Just something to note if you’re taking a vacation where you expect to work or download files – even a zoom call might be a challenge. It is an absolutely adorable cabin!!!!

Rejuvenating long weekend at Shenandoah Shores

We came to relax and recharge at Shenandoah Shores waterfront cabin and the weekend did not disappoint. We expected snow but got rain, freezing rain, and sleet, but still the justification we needed to have a worry-free weekend. The indoor accommodations were cozy and comfortable with one of the best outfitted kitchens we have seen. The crafts and decorations throughout the home were a joy to view. And the river views and firepit on the shore gave us the calming respite that we needed. We have stayed on the river at other homes in early Fall, so I can imagine the summer river fun to be had with the available canoes and kayaks. The internet speed and range could be improved, since cell coverage is weak in this area. Future investment in a power generator would be wise. Our 7-hour power outage was not a major inconvenience, since the gas fireplace kept it warm in the living area. But I can imagine a difficult time for longer outages or on really cold or really hot days. We will definitely keep Shenandoah Shores on our list for the future.

Peace and Quiet

We had a great time at this place. Everything in this house is well thought out. Great decoration and clean. Other than occasional buffer when watching Netflix, everything else was great. Sitting around the fire and watch the river is relaxing. We would come back again.

Fall getaway

We love the cabin. It’s a very cozy environment. Love the decor and fireplace. The new kitchen table was a great addition. It was our second stay. We brought my daughter and her husband this time. They fell in love with it and want to build one like it. Only complaint would be wifi bandwidth and range only because we watched hockey games on Saturday. Otherwise it’s fabulous. Owners thought of everything you could want. Kitchen well stocked with silverware, dishes, glasses, pots and pans, etc. We will rent again next year for sure. K&J

Escape we needed

I can’t say enough wonderful things about our stay. After less than 24 hours there, we asked to add another day to our stay and Tom graciously accommodated us! Our first morning we woke up, we sat in the chairs outside on the River bank and the view up the river with the mountains was breathtaking. Loved our nights with the fire pit..sleeping in the bedroom facing the river with the window up, cool air coming in, the sound of the river, under the warm covers was the most peaceful and relaxing sleep. So many thoughtful considerations and beautiful touches did not go unnoticed. We will absolutely be returning again!

Lovely cabin in a great location

LOVED this property! The house was cute and on a secluded lot of land right on the Shenandoah River. They had canoes, kayaks and a tube available for use. The backyard was awesome with chairs and a fire pit all with a wonderful view of the river. We can't wait to go back. I have already been letting my friends know about this house.

The pictures on the listing don't do this home justice. The cabin is gorgeous. The views of the river and mountains are stunning. It was so clean. Anything you forgot to pack? Don't panic. There are pots, pans, bakeware, cookware, spices and extra foil to spare. I can't wait to come back, hopefully next fall! Thank you so much Tom and Margo!
