I took only the things I needed for the night in with me (leaving the rest in my car, where it felt very safe) and I slept with the window open and I was just fine (I'm very warm-blooded). “Every time we come back to the Royal, it never ceases to disappoint. The staff are the people who make this such a special and charming hotel. The warmest of welcomes and we were so well taken care of. Attentive and polite customer services, similar to that of Ashford Castle, that seems to be lost in many establishments these days. The only complaint we had, was that the bedroom was cold even with the small radiator up to its maximum temperature, and the fires had not been lit in the bar area...

“I didn’t want to leave! They were amazing there. Staff were incredibly nice, and helpful when I had questions. I got to meet a few locals who welcomed me to their table and conversation. Everyone at the hotel made me feel welcome and like family. There is a nice pub that is a part of it. The food was great, and for vegetarians they had tasty options. “I stayed in room 8 for one night, clean room very comfy large bed amazing shower (water pressure was superb).
We stayed on a Thursday night and they had live music on for an hour & then karaoke in the bar & restaurant 👍. The food was excellent there was a large selection of Indian food & some traditional dishes ( I had the chicken schnitzel with sauted potatoes & broccoli…v good. I’d also like to mention Sydney the extremely hard working barmaid, she never stopped all night 👏👏👏”
