Chalet in Madera

“Really beautiful and cozy place with everything you need. In peaceful location, very close to Pico Ruivo and levada Caldeirao Verde. We enjoyed staying here and highly recommend it.”

“All”

“Nice multi-level property with a rooftop terrace that provides a great view of Funchal. Management was quick and responsive. Be aware that if the weather is hot there’s no AC. They provided a room AC that worked for the bottom floor, and fans for the other two bedrooms…but it was warm for sleeping…but otherwise really enjoyed our stay!”

“The property is lovely and views are amazingIt is not near anywhere so car hire is essentialMinor issues with upstairs bathroom drainage but that did not detractWonderful to sit on veranda watching sunsets”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It had everything we needed and is extremely clean and organized. We loved the views of the mountain and ocean and the quiet at night. The location is fabulous and the host is very responsive, accommodating, and kind. We wish we had more time there!”

“beautiful house and view, a bit far from the centre and parking was sometimes difficult but just be prepared for this and you will be fine. Maybe beach towels and more white towels.”

“The view was excellent.”

“There was no wifi no plates no glasses no dish clothes and the list goes on. I would not recommend to my worst enemy. Then the host brings on plates and glasses and leaves them for us to unpack. Needless to say we did not and they honestly just need to get organized for when people arrive. ”

“The photos of this home are stunning but unfortunately, our stay was not as lovely. We are American so a few things we just didn't realize were not standard- the beds were doubles and there was no AC. What was supposed to be a romantic vacation turned into us sleeping in different rooms because we were hot & didn't have enough space. The house was well equipped for cooking - which we did but missing some other essentials. We were provided 2 towels that were small and felt like sandpaper for the...

“Property was in a great location, clean, welcoming, and a bargain. Slightly difficult to find the first time then was easy sailing. Communication from host was top notch. Only difficulty i experienced was adjusting to the height of ceilings. I struck my head routinely on the sloped ceilings, between rooms, and especially bathroom. I am approximately 71.5 inches/182cm for reference. My daughter at 63 inches/160cm was fine. All in all we enjoyed our stay!”

“We were really looking forward to this place as it was our last accommodation on the island. Unfortunately we didn’t realize how high up in the mountains you are - it adds like 15 mins just trying to get up to the property from the towns near by You’re far away from everything! Parking in this place is also very annoying and hard if you’re not a good driver to maneuver around tight corners of the gate and stone walls. Additionally the photos made us think these individual places were spaced out...
