Southwest Luxury Glamping - Horse Fly Tent

  • This hidden gem sits right next to the Mancos River for a peaceful nights sleep. It is perfect for those who are wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and slow down to enjoy nature in a wifi free and all amentias of Glamping. Unwind and relax in style and in nature. Amazing views of the Sleeping Ute mountain, Mesa Verde, and San Juan National Mountains. a unique experience as you get the opportunity to stay in one of our covered properties. From a covered wagon, sheepherders tent, silo or tipi.

    Take a stroll down the1 mile lane, and along the way enjoy the spring-fed pond, and cattle and horses grazing nearby. We encourage you to enjoy the property and spacious views, but ask that you please protect our animals and fields by not crossing any fence lines. We hope you utilize the outdoor seating to enjoy the sunrise and sunset, and it’s not uncommon to see deer and wildlife in the morning and early evening grazing in the fields. It’s a pretty spectacular view! Please keep in mind that we’re a working hay farm/ranch, and you may see us occasionally out and about on the property. Depending on the time of year you visit, you may even get to see us baling hay and working in the fields.

    Please note there is a river and a large ditch on property. These are NOT fenced away from the property. Please watch your children very closely. We are not responsible for any accidents that may occur.

    Outdoor cameras are installed on the driveway and outside facing outward. This home does allow pets and is non-smoking.

    Your booking automatically includes a damage protection policy. Should any minor accidental damages occur during your stay, we will cover you up to $250. We understand accidents happen, so we've got your back! However, if we determine damage was willful or negligent, we will charge an additional cost based on the damage itself.
    Please note the check-in and check-out times. We can typically accommodate requests for early check-ins / late check-outs, but we can only confirm such requests 48 hours before the date requested. The reason is we potentially have other guests coming in or leaving the same day, and cleaners typically need around 5 hours.

Two friends from different states, we stayed a week to be part of the Mesa Verde Writers Conference and Literary Festival (respectively), plus explore a bit afterwards. So close to town, yet--with running water music on either side of our spacious wall tent--in another world entirely, we couldn't ask for a better vacation base. All civilized needs were met, and also feeling close to the flycatchers and sapsuckers in the shade-giving cottonwoods. Whimsical folk art helped create a respite from whatever drama was happening elsewhere, so we return rejuvenated.

My friends and I had came to Durango for a girls weekend trip from NM and wanted something that was more glamping style so this was perfect and it had everything we needed from having a beverage cooler for drinking water to having a clean bathroom with a shower. The place was also pretty at night and was quiet so you get to really enjoy the sound of nature. The only issue we had was the check in where vrbo never sent an email (both confirmation email and check in process). We had checked in late at around 9pm and were confused on how the process worked and there was no one on site. Luckily, the hosts daughter-in-law (?) came on property into the rescue within minutes from reaching out and helped us with everything. I would definitely stay here again in the near future!

This place is a gem! The bed was extremely comfortable. Streams were relaxing . Love the cold plunge area complete with a great sauna. Private pond has dock with slide for kids ( ours are in their 30s and loved it) Bathrooms were very clean. Firepit was gas so not banned with fire restrictions. Bbq supplies and grill were very well equipped. The town of Mancos is few minutes away.Shout out to Hannah at the bookstore if you’re looking for a book, bottle or glass of wine and maybe some cute earrings!Also fence line for cider and live music. Boathouse for nice steak and seafood dinner.20 minutes to mesa verde national park. Great place to come home to after a hike in the parkThe hosts were very responsive to our questions Thank you again

Horse Fly TentWe spent a week here. Even though there are 4 different units on the site, we were the only ones here. This allowed us to use everything without any problems. The owners have done an amazing job making this place wonderfully comfortable. The site has so many amenities that it’s like camping at home. We overpacked expecting to need some of our own supplies. Other than our own food and fishing supplies we didn’t need to bring anything else. They provide bedding, towels, tv, grills, microwave, fridge, pots and pans, cooking utensils, everything to eat with and on, dishes and utensils, drinking water, fire pit and chairs. They have games, a sauna, showers/bathrooms with everything needed to clean up. The Mancos River runs through it so you can go swimming and fishing. It is also located near many things to visit. Southwest Luxury Glamping provided us with the opportunity to enjoy nature with all the amenities from home. Thank you!
