Excellent. Quiet, very well catered and clean. Good shower and comfy bed. Kitchen has everything you need and more. Maria is very welcoming. Great for dogs, with plenty of places to walk dogs. Can't fault Maria's property. I highly recommend it and will return next time we're in the Waikato.

Our host, Maria, was a delight. We came to the property late after Hobbiton due to a cancelled flight. No time to get a SIM card at the Auckland Airport so I missed her messages about leaving a key for us. She was so gracious when I knocked on her door and helped us get settled in. Let us some animal feed to give the animals at our leisure. Lovely to talk to and the master bed was so comfortable! Would book here again!

Great spot, wonderful host

The Shed was roomy and comfortable with great entertainment (pool table, games, tv, books, feeding the animals), good breakfast provided, a lovely park next door and so close to town (lots of dining options) and also handy to Hobbiton, golf, hot pools. Maria was an amazing host who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and was so helpful with our dogs - we really enjoyed our stay.

Cute and Comfortable

We were only traveling through for one night and wish we could have stayed longer. This charming location was a comfortable joy to stay in. Loved the added bonus of getting to feed the alpacas and we devoured the chocolate muffins. Super easy check-in and out. Very helpful and friendly host. I would gladly come back and also recommend to anyone.

Great place to stay, brilliant communication, easy access to Matamata and surrounding areas. Has everything you could want for a home away from home. Highly recommend and would not hesitate to stay again.

Amazing Location and Kind, Understanding Host!

Staying in this shed was a blast - it's one big open space inside (bathroom is a separate room) so it feels like a party. Surrounding fields and farmlands make it feel fun, and Maria even let us feed the alpacas, they were hilarious! We were in a car accident and Maria was flexible with our arrival date, and didn't even charge us extra for moving everything back day. Extremely kind, understanding,, and attentive. I would definitely stay again

Wide Open Spaces

This is essentially a pole barn, and I assume it was once used as one, as indicated by the slight farm smell inside. The fact it's wide open is NOT a negative it's nice having room to move around, and the sleeping arrangements just work. Nobody (5) of us bothered the other while sleeping or staying up later than the rest. It worked out great. The kids played a game of pool, and we all fed the alpacas out back with nuts provided by the host. The host showed up shortly after our arrival to welcome us and was very interested in sharing information about the area, asking what our plans were, and providing ideas and suggestions for things to do and see. Note there is a neat "downtown" area we wished we would have made it to town sooner to check it out. We visited both the north and south islands, and my kids, both 17-year-old boys, liked this area of New Zealand the best; the rest of us mostly agree, but it's hard to compete with the south island if you're into hiking and nature.

Lots of space

We really loved our stay here. Plenty of room and a lovely space to rest in. A couple of things though that would make it even better... a non slip mat in the shower would be handy and tea towels as we couldnt find any. Not a biggie though because we loved it here nonetheless.
