With direct access to the river, you'll have the chance to partake in tubing, fishing, kayaking, and swimming, making it a paradise for water enthusiasts. Our completely renovated home boasts captivating mountain views, providing a sense of seclusion while still being conveniently located just 8 miles from Woodstock, where you can explore dining, shopping, and numerous attractions.

Nature lovers will find even more to cherish, as Seven Bends State Park is just a short distance away, offering public access to the North Fork of the Shenandoah River. Delight in two hand-carry boat launches, picnic areas, a single family-sized picnic shelter, vault restrooms, and 8 miles of scenic hiking trails within the park's embrace.

We were badly in need of some disconnected R&R and this was the perfect place to do it. Spacious, clean, comfortable, with plenty of seating and amenities. It was too warm for the hot tub, but we made much use of the volleyball net, basketball court, and most importantly - the river! Kayaks and tubes were provided, we floated and fished and enjoyed the serenity of the river and mountains. The host is kind, responsive and helpful. I expect that we’ll return again!

Love the house and Amber is very responsive. We had a nice week but the state of the yard was a problem. They had tree removal in the yard multiple days and their truck turned the yard and basketball court into a mud pit which rendered it mostly unusable.

Family Retreat

Great family time—tubing on the river, basketball, hot tub, indoor games and relaxing in the rockers on the front porch. Well equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare family meals. Super clean and plenty of linens. Bug spray is a must.

Wonderful time in the valley.

It was a short stay for us, only two days, but we loved every minute of it. We were looking for a place to break up the 11 hour drive home from Tennessee to NY and we were fortunate to have found this location.The scenery is jaw dropping. I would describe it better here, but that would ruin the incredible surprise you get when you turn the corner just minutes from the house and see it for the first time…The house was beautiful and spotless and contained everything necessary to feel at home. We cooked dinner both nights and everything we needed was available. We had a great time hanging out by the fire at night and all of the firewood was provided for. My dog had a better time running around on the massive front lawn. Unfortunately we did not get to make use of the river access, but it is very convenient (at the edge of the driveway) and all of the equipment is available for use.Lastly, Amber by far was the most attentive and responsive host I’ve experienced thus far. I annoyed her with questions three separate times and her responses were almost instantaneous. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my stay and highly recommend!

Amazing!

I’ve never stayed in such a well stocked property! HUGE yard, pet friendly, so close to the river, fire pit, hot tub…I could go on and on! The location was the ideal distance for my adult children to meet us for Easter. The neighbor’s honey was an unexpected treat and we were able to watch him tend his hives. Only 10 minutes to Woodstock for lunch at a pet friendly brewery and we used the grill and giant kitchen to prepare Easter dinner. Amazing property with amazing hosts! Thank you!

Thanksgiving Celebration

We made a great choice in choosing the Riverfront Retreat for our Thanksgiving celebration. The large dining table fit our group and its close proximity to the kitchen made serving and cleanup a breeze. One bedroom is set apart from the others which worked perfectly for one couple who ducked out at 5am to catch a flight out of Dulles (about an hours drive) without disturbing others in the group. We enjoyed hiking in Seven Bends State Park and even toured the Shenandoah Caverns (a short drive). Woodstock has limited restaurant opportunities for dinner but the Woodstock Brewery never disappointed. The Woodstock Food Lion was excellent for groceries. The weather was cold during our stay so we did not partake of many of the outdoor amenities. Our gathering around the firepit was cut short by rain. In better weather, there would have been so much more to do outdoors around the property. But we were content in the very comfortable indoors just visiting and eating. Great property! Would Highly recommend!

Perfect fall weekend

This house was was just perfect for our family's long weekend. It was close to everything we wanted to do and the property was ideal for just hanging out. We played basketball, volleyball, fished, and roasted marshmellows. The layout of the house was spacious and accommodated our family well. I highly recommend this property!

The perfect getaway

I spent the weekend here with my siblings and niece. The space was perfect and comfortable for 6 adults and a baby. Amber was a delight to communicate with and had a great welcome book ready for us. The house was clean and cute and the property itself was beautiful and serene (very buggy - bring bug spray!). The location was convenient as we were coming from NJ, NC, and DC. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you Amber!

Weekend getaway

What an absolutely lovely house and location. Everything was perfect! The house has everything you need and more. We enjoyed sitting outside and taking in the peaceful surroundings. Star gazing around the fire pit, a few board games around the dinning room table, fly fishing and kayaking. Would definitely stay here again. And our host was so kind and easy to communicate with. Thank you for making our getaway a huge success!

Wonderful stay at the River House

Our two families stayed at the river house for a week, and had a wonderful time! Although it's not a huge house, it's well-designed for a big group: big couch for watching movies, plenty of beds, and lots of activities in and out of the house, including kayaks and tubes for the river, lawn games, and board games. We watched the neighbor tend to beehives and enjoyed sitting on the porch and relaxing. Great place!

Relaxing!

The house was exactly as described, there were no outside noises other than birds, and the home was near enough to the small towns we could run out for dinner at some local places. It was SOOOO relaxing and just what we needed.
