JB's-Getaway in the mountains with trails and more

If you are looking for a place where you can enjoy the outdoors, ATV trails, scenic drives, and still be close enough to town, this is the perfect place for you! This 2 bedroom, 2 bath house is only 7 miles from the South Trailhead Wolfpen Gap Trails. There is so much National Forest to see! Mena sits just at the base of Queen Wilhelmina State Park & Lodge and the Talihmena Scenic Drive. There is so much to love about the property including the attached deck and the creek that runs beside the house.

I've rented approximately 10 properties in Mena over the last 15 years or so. This was one of the best vacation homes in Mena I've rented. The two bedroom home was clean, spacious and well appointed. The master bedroom is especially spacious. It is located close to the trails and close to town, great combination. You can hear the running stream located on the property from the wooden deck, a relaxing bonus for sure. The large covered outside pavilion is another great feature. Having two access points from the road onto the property makes it especially easy to access with a trailer. I will definitely rent this home again in the future. Communication with the owner was great. I can't think of anything I would change. To me this home is a great value. I would add that the check in and check out couldn't have been easier. The host doesn't require a long list of chores upon check out either.

Overall good place, beware of garage flooding if it rains

The location was convenient: short 8-10 minute drive to Mena, and direct access to WGP ATV trails via connector trail and brief paved road (about 25-minute fun ride: South on Brushy/30, East on Two Mile Road, Northwest on 375 to WPG West trailhead). There are other ways via paved road also. So, it was great not to have to trailer our machines, we could ride straight to the trails. The property was large, private and conducive to my 22-foot trailer, with room to load and unload machines. You are able to pull your trailer through the property as there are 2 entrances, so no need to have to maneuver your trailer around, which was great. We were able to store the machines (RZR and 3 quads) in the garage and ride directly to WPG. Overall, this was a good place, nice facility, good kitchen and lounging area, and good base of operations for offroading. I gave 4/5 on cleanliness and listing accuracy for the following. The biggest issue was the garage taking on water during rain and drenching all of our shoes and trailer ratchet straps that were left in the garage. This was a normal rain, not an area flood. Water came through the back garage door and collected in the garage where there was about 2 inches of standing water. There was no warning on the listing or in the info book in the home, but there should be. Do NOT leave anything on the floor of the garage that you do not want to get soaked in the case of rain.

Perfect family getaway.

The home was very clean and felt very cozy. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of space. The family enjoyed the nice deck. I will definitely choose this house again for my next trip.

Peace and Quiet

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was exactly as described. We were in Mena for a motorcycle rally and were thrilled to have a garage. Didnt have to cover the bike or wipe the dew off in the mornings. Would definitely come back!

Mena House #2

We loved the location and the access to the trails. The driveway was easy for us to load and unload atv's and store our trailer. We really liked the extra privacy on the second bedroom and bathroom!! The grill patio was great, we were able to sit out there and enjoy our steaks we cooked on the grill. The only complaint we had was about the showers. The one in the primary bath was short and the one in the other bath was a very small square. We made due and it was definitely not a deal breaker.

Fantastic stay!

We loved our stay! The house was extremely clean and the host was very responsive to all our needs. We especially liked the outdoor patio and grill areas which made for a great place to unwind and enjoy the weather. Use of the garage was a nice touch, providing a way to store our ATVs when not on the trails. We will be back!

Perfect vacation spot

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at JB’s GETAWAY. It is perfectly located close to the Wolfpen Gap trailhead and just a very short distance to town. The home was very clean, and well furnished. The running stream off of the deck was an added bonus! The host MaryJane was very responsive and very accommodating! Easy check in and check out. I highly recommend this place and we hope we have the chance to stay again !

Super clean in a great location

Check in process was easy. The house was immaculately cleaned and in the perfect location to go ride ATVs at wolf pen just a couple of miles down the street. The garage access made it easy to store our side by sides and not worry about anything happening to them. 10/10 would stay here again.

Very accommodating and comfortable

We stayed for 4 days. The property was lovely and my family had a wonderful comfy place to stay in between all of the exciting activities that we did around Mena. The property owner was easy to communicate with, and was very accommodating. We'll definitely stay there again if we get down that way.
