Everything is great except for no AC & 6-8am traffic sounds - a car alarm went off every single morning during those hours and the trash people ring literal bells, there’s a truck with a recorded woman yelling a menu of services

The B&B is in a unique historic building and was conveniently located to my job site. It is a sustainable B&B, which is admirable, but is not clearly advertised on Expedia. You have to use their bath/hair products and limit water usage. The towels were raggedy and old. There were dust bunnies and hair all over the floor to the point that it covered my socks daily from walking around the room. There is no air conditioning, so if you are traveling during warm weather, be warned. If you're American, be warned that all toilet paper has to go in the trashcan here, not the toilet.

We spend 4 nights at El Patio 77. From our arrival to our departure, Elvia and the team did their best to help us and give us a great stay at El Patio 77. The room was beautiful, the colonial features of the property mixed with cool modern art throughout. The breakfast area was lovely lit and the food was delicious. Healthy and tasty breakfast, which every day was different. The team was always happy to help with great advice and tips on what to do and where. Same for restaurant suggestions. Would definitely return to El Patio 77!

This is a beautiful, unique B & B that feels very homey. The staff was very welcoming & helpful, offering personalized recommendations and suggestions on places to visit in the city. The neighborhood is walking distance to a metro stop and is sprinkled with coffee shops and restaurants. A lovely place . I would certainly book again!

We loved our spacious beautiful room and the staff could not have been more helpful. It was a short stay for us so we did not have time to explore the neighborhood but we felt safe and the area felt authentic.

A real gem, can’t wait to come back
A really lovely stay in Mexico City. The hotel is in a grand old building on a quiet side street lined by trees. The area is fairly quiet but the metro isn’t far away to get around. We were made to feel so welcome by the lovely manager. The room was beautiful and light filled and a lovely place to unwind after a long day exploring. There’s also a kitchen where you can make tea or coffee. The hotel provides filtered water in the rooms which meant we didn’t have to buy any bottled water. Breakfast is delicious. The design is really elegant, lovely furniture, touches of colour, very chic. The one slight downside is the toilet in our room wasn’t closed off, which is a little too intimate if you’re sharing a room.

Best stay ever. I had a solo stay and Elvia the owner was so kind. The hotel feels more like a grand nurturing villa and I had the best sleep of my life. I will return with my boyfriend and stay in Suite Oaxaca or Guerrero- they are so romantic!

Découvrir cet espace a été magique! On se retrouve dans une maison magnifique avec un super patio extérieur, une décoration faite avec beaucoup de goût, des hautes plafonds, une cuisine, un salon, on se sent dans une maison idéale. Un espace calme en pleine ville. Elvia donne une attention sincère et semble trouver les spots à visiter adaptés aux différents clients Lieu alternatif avec plein de tips pour réduire au maximum l'impact environnemental... Le brunch du dimanche organisé par le chef Axl est aussi un excellent et savoureux moment, Je ne peux que recommander ce lieu, Have a good saty

Excellent, kind hearted staff,rooms are perfection
It has been a long time since I have stayed in a boutique hotel where you can tell everyone loves their work and respects their colleagues. As a single female tourist, I could not have felt more safe or looked after. The feeling of El patio 77 is like being in a big beautiful home but always having kind hearted staff nearby. The rooms are gorgeous, very clean, it’s quiet, one of the few places near Centro where you actually can hear birds outside your window. It was a lovely stay.

Elvia, the proprietor of this bed and breakfast, is an amazing host! We stayed here in April 2022, and arrived late in the evening, but Elvia greeted us warmly and with a cup of tea, before showing us our room. The location is wonderful. We wanted something away from the commotion of the main touristy neighborhoods, but still walkable/easy access to all the tourist spots. It's a very safe neighborhood with its own charm. The rooms are clean and staff is welcoming. Breakfast is soo delicious. We recommend this place to our friends and would stay here again next time we're in Mexico City.

This is a boutique hotel like a bed and breakfast, not a Best Western. It's an old family mansion with 20' cielings, wrought iron, old style fixtures and really awesome interior decorating. It's artsy. I usually don't eat breakfast but it was custom made on the spot and best I've had. Neighborhood is quiet middle class Mexico City excellent taco joints and restaurants nearby. I'm a biz traveler will stay here all the time. No TV, no central heating, but excellent wi-fi so don't need a TV. Clean, interesting place to stay in a safe quiet neighborhood. Staff was friendly and told history of the property, but again not like a Sheraton general mgr more of a caretaker. Bottle of wine with friends, girlfriend, definitely would be a great spot.

Everything was great, but I had only two things that for my personal taste and being from a first world country I find slightly inconvenient to not have. That is high speed internet with perfect reception. Their wifi was so slow, they had 3 different wifi users but all were as slow and I barely had reception. I would lose connection all the time. There was no smart tv either and from the outside you would never know it was a boutique hotel or anything. I’ve been to many boutique hotels, hacienda hotels and rustic hotels in Mexico, Argentina and Europe but they had no sign identifying themselves outside on the street and it caused my taxi drivers issues all the time, they were even concerned for my safety lol as they thought it could be fake. Obviously they are a real hotel though and I wish them all the best.

The hotel is in a beautifully restored building in the San Rafael neighborhood. Everything works, and the three concierges speak perfect English and are both capable and charming. The neighborhood is up and coming, but does lack the broader and higher-end dining options in Condesa, Roma and Polanco. Lots of delicious Mexican food available, though.

El Patio 77 is a beautiful hotel in a lovingly restored colonial building. High ceilings, winding wooden staircase, stained glass skylight, it is an oasis from the hustle and bustle of Mexico City. Most important, however, were the kindly and friendly attentions of Andrea, Alex and Luisa, all three of whom spoke excellent English and were so helpful and solicitous to two travelers from California.

Beautiful B&B
We highly recommend El Patio 77. Our first trip to Mexico city was perfect in large part to this lovely B&B. The folks at the front desk are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The kitchen staff (who also serve as the cleaning staff) made the best breakfast, which changes daily and our room was always spotless. The B&B itself is beautiful and decorated with art. We stayed in the Oaxaca room, which was very spacious, with gorgeous floor to ceiling windows and a private bathroom with beautiful tiling. The bed was very comfortable and they provide unlimited free drinking water. Do take time to read the welcome book, which has helpful information. Also, one of our favorite restaurants is just around the corner (recommended by the front desk) - El Asadero. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to CDMX.

Let’s not sugarcoat it: the San Rafael neighborhood is probably not where 9/10 people from the US or any sophisticated travler looking for beauty and amenities will want to be. El Patio 77 finds itself on many best-of lists and comes up as top LGBT destination. It’s a wonderful little place. But someone needs to speak up and let everyone know that if you stay here, you are going to be off the beaten path. Sure you can walk to great places, but it’s not a pretty walk. That said, San Rafael is very Mexican and middle class. It’s worth a walk around if you stay here. There are some old crumbling vestiges of grandeur. And a handful of Mexican hippies walking dogs.

Rob, We are happy to hear that you liked our hotel, our staff, our breakfasts and of course and your experience with us. It is very important to know all of this so we can be better for you and other guests. Regarding to neighborhood, we are sorry that your experience wasn´t so great, it is of course one of the oldest around the city, so this would be the main reason that it is not meant for all travelers, since they may found it more traditional. Indeed The San Rafael it is emblematic/iconic for Mexico City because there is a lot of folklore and it is one of the phew neighborhoods that keeps ingrained its traditions, this is the reason why people stay here, because they are willing to see the real Mexico, of course it is not fancy so the streets are not as in other neighborhoods. We hope that your remaining experience at the city it is very pleascent for you, and that you have a great time during your vacations.

A charming oasis
I loved El Patio 77. The decor is lovely, the staff is incredibly hospitable and caring, and the breakfast is delicious! The location was a bit further than I anticipated from the neighborhoods of Roma, Condesa, and Juarez, but during the day it's a nice walk. Once you're inside the hotel, it's like you're in a beautiful oasis. The beds are comfortable and the rooms have individual charm. As a single traveler, I really appreciated the care and consideration I was shown by the staff.

Really cute feels like an apartment, pretty fulfilling breakfast with fruits yogurt and eggs. Warm welcoming staffs. There's no AC so be prepared for that. Personally think the scented oil used in our room is too sweet not what I like, but other than that it was good.
