“A really nice pub, restaurant and hotel. An excellent location in the middle of the village. Our room was a really nice size, well maintained, clean, comfortable and with excellent facilities. The food and service was of a very high standard with friendly and professional staff.”

“A comfortable, quiet yet conveniently situated hotel. Our king size bed was a little firm, but that's personal taste. Breakfasts were tasty and nicely cooked and served. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel. There's plenty of car parking, but it does get busy with diners' cars. The free wi-fi was fine. Out tv needed a new aerial cable, which was sorted immediately when we raised the issue. Staff were friendly and approachable. “Obviously anywhere that makes their own sour dough bread, is the place to stay. Nothing was too much trouble for Pascale. Lovely welcome, great room, quiet and plenty of space. Good shower. Breakfast - apart from the Kelloggs offering- yuk…_is freshly made and a good selection. The location of Cawthorne House is brilliant, easy to walk into the centre. Nice walk to Thornton-le-Dale. Also has a car park round the back, so handy.”
