Upon arriving, the door had a sign that said no hot water on property. The hall had a smoke detector or alarm beeping all night. The bathtub was rusty. The door to where the fridge was didn't close. The headboard where the side table connects was falling apart. I pre-paid for the room or I would have left. The clerk said the manager was not giving discounts on stays due to the water issue. Maintenance was terrible. Could be a nice place but there is obviously no one caring for the property.

Bed was comfortable, was told at check in there would be no hot water that evening and then got up next morning still no water. Ask for manager and was told they wouldn’t be there until 8am

The overall area was fantastic, as were the staff and other staying guests. The ice machines on the first and second floor were broken, so the third floor was the only place to go for ice. The room was amazing, however there were always ants in the bathroom even when things were cleaned, and we were staying on the second floor. Not sure if there was anything in the walls or if they were coming up the drain, but it made going to the bathroom and showering a little longer than desired as the ants would need rinsed down the drain or wiped off the floor. Outside of that small inconvenience, the place and staff were fantastic.

Pool closed.
I had reserved a double room for myself, my husband, and our grandchildren. All they had available when we checked in was a handicap room which was a minor inconvenience. However they were still cleaning it when we got there, leaving us to stand in the hall. They were apologetic and trying to hurry, but I wish we had known before we hauled kids and luggage up there. The biggest disappointment, however, was that the pool was closed. I chose it because it had a pool so the kids could swim and would have chosen another hotel if I had known. The website doesn't mention the pool closure.

Comfortable stay at a great price. Nice location off of the loop. Nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. Great breakfast options.

Close to lots of restaurants and shopping. Priced just right. If you go take your own pillow, because while they do provide plenty of pillows they are tiny and suck.

Don’t Do It
We chose this hotel based on the great ratings and were incredibly disappointed. I’m not super picky, but for such great ratings I was expecting a whole lot more. The Pros: the complimentary breakfast was great and had lots to choose from, the lady at the front counter was incredibly nice and helpful, and they had free laundry available. They were the only good things about the place. The Cons: the hallway was really hot and the hallway flooring under the carpet felt like it was falling apart, the room had a terrible metallic smell (like old gross pennies), the outdated window shade didn’t work right, they didn’t give us any hand or body soap (although the lady at the front was happy to supply soap when we asked), and the bathroom was awful. The bathroom door lock didn’t work and the door was full of scratches and looked like it had been broken out of, the light over the mirror was broken at one end, the tub looked gross with stains, and the wall where the curtain rod was attached didn’t match the rest of the wall. Overall, it could’ve been worse, but the ratings here were misleading and I really wished I had chosen differently.

Disappointing
Hamptons are usually pretty good. But this one was a disappointment. Hotel in general is outdated, needs a refresh. Furniture is scuffed up. Elevator took forever to service 3 floors. Breakfast kitchen equipment not working, thus no potatos nor sausage bc attendant said she had to cook everything manually on small counter top oven. AC in room made some horrible noise anytime it would come on. Very disappointed !!

I liked the reception we got. Elizabeth welcomed us with a big, friendly smile and actually paid attention to our special request for a quiet room due to my surgery the next day. She was equally warm and friendly when we departed. If ever there was a face a hotel needs at the front desk, she is it.
