When I made this reservation, no one told me it was in the middle of being updated/renovated. To get to my room I had to traverse a long hallway (whose carpeted floor was lined with plastic sheeting), while dodging, staging and workers plastering/sanding the walls. The ceiling was open, exposing all wiring and plumbing.
When I got to my room, it appeared in decent condition. However, there was a foul septic odor emanating from the toilet that lingered off and on throughout my stay.
My sleep that night was disrupted by outdoor traffic (the building is on the corner of a very busy intersection). Trucks were rumbling through most of the night.
The shower flow was barely adequate.
The second day I was woken, at 6:00 AM, to a bevy of boisterous voices coming from the room next door. Apparently there is little or no soundproofing.
I considered asking to move to another room, but I afraid I would confront the same conditions elsewhere.
At present, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, nor do I have plans on staying there again. I wish I could get a refund, or some form of remuneration.
On a more positive note, the staff was pleasant.
