  • Welcome to The Retreat! An adorable and comfortable cottage just steps from the beach. This two bed + loft, two full bath, free standing home is in a private setting on a culda sac street. It sleeps 8 and is your perfect getaway for peace and relaxation.

    The Retreat is located on popular Broadkill Beach - a charming place to relax, unwind, and renew. The space is simple and serene, yet has everything one needs.

    Steps to the beach with a large deck, outdoor shower, and fenced backyard, this house welcomes pets! Main Floor living with a bright open floor plan with skylights and hardwood floors makes getting around easy. The main bedroom has a private bath with a beautiful large walk in shower.

    Broadkill beach is away from the hustle and bustle of Rehoboth and Lewes Beach. Play board games on the all seasons screened in front porch, or grill out on the spacious front deck. Walk down to the Broadkill beach country store for some ice cream or legendary cheese steaks.

    The Retreat is just 20 minutes from the charming and historic town of Lewes and Lewes Beach. Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes is stunning-make sure you check out the historic Army Base and Fort Miles. Also within short driving distance is Delaware Turf Sports Complex.

    Other points of interest:
    -Dogfish Head Brewery in Milton and downtown Rehoboth
    -the boardwalk at Rehoboth Beach
    -Dewey Beach-fun restaurants with great live music on the Bay like the Rusty Rudder

Our family of 4 plus our dog enjoyed a one night stay while visiting family in the area. We loved Broadkill Beach, which is a 5 minute walk from the deck to the sand. Having the outdoor shower and washer/dryer was perfect after a sandy day. The house was well stocked to cook meals and the extra pillows and blankets came in handy. I especially loved the large shower off the master bedroom! We loved playing many games of Uno from the games provided and were cozy hanging out in the living room.

Property was a convenient location and very well-kept. Had a nice warm shower and a very comfortable sleep and stay. Short walk to the beach, which made for a nice morning walk. Full kitchen available for use. Experienced a glitch with the keypad code at check-in but host was very responsive to our reaching out for help, and they were able to remotely reset the keypad to help us gain entry to the property. Would stay there again if in the area in the future.

The property is a 5 min walk to the beach and only 15 min to town. Beach was large, clean and hardly anyone there on a hot June weekend- amazing privacy! We found it well suited for 2 adults and 2 dogs. A fenced in backyard was very helpful for a quick zoomie or potty break. Outdoor shower is great for post-beach rinse. Bedrooms are small but clean and comfy. Kitchen well stocked with dishes, cookware to prepare meals. The living room super cozy and relaxing after a long day in the sun. Did not utilize the loft space, but note the narrow stairs may be difficult for humans and dogs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return again.

This is a lovely beach-neighborhood cottage, with a comfy vibe. It has a nice layout with the living space on one side of the kitchen/dining area, and the bedrooms and baths on the other side, so that those who are sleeping aren't disturbed by those talking or playing games or watching TV. The kitchen is very well equipped. Being answer older cottage, there are only a few steps up to the deck and front door, which was helpful for our older mom who was vacationing with us. (Fyi, unfortunately there were no grab bars in the showers though.) The close proximity to Prime Hook Refuge provides easy access to many paths and boardwalks, good fishing and wildlife sightings. And we saw many different birds from the cottage deck every day. With the help of the Merlin bird ID app, we identified 10 different birds over our morning coffee. Truly serene and peaceful.

After a 6 hour drive it was so nice to arrive at this very quiet retreat! Julie is a great host! Our communication was wonderful! There was a slight miscommunication with the cleaning service and they came quickly to get the house setup! Very nice people and Julie couldn’t have been more accommodating. These things just happen sometimes! We traveled with my 87 year old mom who is somewhat mobile. She loved the walk in shower. We also had my two grown children and their significant others along. We were all able to sleep comfortably! We absolutely love this location as well as the house and are hopeful to visit again!!! Thanks, Julie!!!

Excellent

Communication was excellent. We spent two nights visiting family on our way to Florida. The accommodations were outstanding. The block and a half to walk to the beach was fabulous. As we were visiting in late November we had the beach all to ourselves. We will definitely stay here again.

Great house!

We had a wonderful stay at Broadkill Beach. The house was great. Just as described on the listing. The master shower is huge and it's very welcome after a day out on the beach. Only 20 minutes from DE Turf fields, which is the reason we were in DE. Would definitely stay here again!

Great stay at a greatplace

Two families staying together for father's day weekend and we had a really lovely time. The house was great with a surprisingly well-equipped kitchen and the host was super helpful and the instructions were all clear. Beach was a short walk away and the neighborhood is nice as could be. Thumbs up, do recommend.

Enjoyed this house, very comfortable for four of us and a dog. Appliances are new and worked as they should. The front living room is a great place to gather, watch tv, and play games. The area is great for walks, and the beach isn’t far. Very quiet in early June. This was our first time staying in Broadkill. We would definitely book this house again if we come back to the area.
