Great Getaway Cabin

Great cabin for a little vacation. This is exactly what we needed after taking a direct hit from Hurricane Helene. Cabin was much bigger than we had anticipated. The hot tub was great for the chilly nights. The wrap around porch was perfect. I wish there was a tv in the living room but that ok, this was meant to be an escape. The driveway can be difficult to navigate if there are other vehicles trying to use it. The trash was not taken out prior to our arrival but I think the guy picking it up said the person got sick. Wasn’t a big deal for us. The parking area says it’s big enough for 3 vehicles. That might be the case for small cars. I had to do a 6 point turn in my F250. I would stay here again

Okay property

There is no comfortable seating. Sofas in cabin old and worn out, 2 person futon in basement is very uncomfortable as we could hardly watch entire football game. No light out front and very dark. Also electric fireplace did not work.

Coach on my floor in poor shape and not enough and uncomfortable seating downstairs by tv & pool table. Everything else was good.

Nice but…..

The unit was overall nice, but the cleanliness of the cabin was not what we are used to. Trash was full when we got there, Kitchen was not clean, Dishes were not clean, etc. Cabin could use some necessary updating, like bedding, utensils, couches, TVs, and outdoor seating.. We didn’t use the hot tub due to the cleanliness issues. There is however lots of room in the cabin, huge wrap around porch, great screened porch and a relaxing view of the woods. I also liked driving the hilly, gravel road leading up to the cabin.

Bed Bugs!

The house was just as listed, and we enjoyed our stay. At least until we got home and realized that we had been bitten by bed bugs. My poor 8 year-old had bites all over her body. We've tried to contact both Vacasa and VRBO, but no one has reached out to us. We hope the problem has been taken care, so that no other renters face what we are now going through--fear that we brought the bugs home and they are now in our house!

Terrible experience!

We stayed at A Bear Pause. & Let me just start off with BED BUGS! Yes, we found multiple bed bugs in multiple rooms! And another very disturbing fact is that the whole home was disgustingly dusty! So uncomfortable. I'm not sure who cleans that place, but I sure wouldn't ever hire them! Another thing, multiple things were already broken when we arrived. There was a smoke detector laying on the floor with no batteries. What good is that doing us if there is a fire? Also, the back porch railing felt as if it was about to fall over. The swing on the porch was broke, so our kids couldn't even enjoy that. We didn't even try the hot tub out because we left the very next day that we got there. We left because of the bed bugs, and dustiness mainly. We were supposed to stay 5 nights, but only stayed one. It was the worst vacation we've ever been on. But Vacasa did give us a refund for the nights we didn't stay. I wrote this review so people could be aware of what it could be like if the owners did not take care of the issues as they should, & as I hope they did.

Great little cabin in the woods

Excellent cabin to stay at. Had a great me with the family playing pool and games. Driveway was a little rough to get in but the cabin was awesome.

Will not sleep 8 as listed, Dirty

We were surprised to find that the cabin did not sleep 8 as listed. The listing clearly states that there are 2 Kings and 4 singles. Here is what it actually has. Loft: 1 single day bed. Main Level 2 kings. Basement: 2 singles. There is a pull out couch on the main level but it has a metal strip wrapped around the handle holding it shut and it's screwed in place so you cannot open it. So that means it sleeps 7. Also, there is only 1 small TV on the main level (master bedroom) and it's from probably 1990 (not a joke). But the kicker is that it is linked with the ONLY OTHER TV (in the basement). If you change the channel on 1 TV the other changes too! So you may as well only have 1 TV. There is NO door on the basement room with the 2 single beds. And the couches in the basement (where the only decent TV is) are so dirty and stained we didn't want to sit on them. Also, when I pulled up the cushion to see if there was a bed in there (there is not) I could see that the whole back side of the cushion was ripped open. The whole cabin really needs a good cleaning. I didn't feel comfortable walking around without shoes and we decided to clean several items around the house before use as they didn't seem to have been cleaned lately.

Great secluded getaway

Had a great stay and the inside of this home is really nice with all the wood and furnishings. It was great to getaway and feels very secluded. Only thing that keeps this place from 5 stars is the exterior. Definitely needs some TLC. The very little yard had was grown very high. A lot of exterior lights were out which I’m sure can happen anytime. Deck was rough and grill needs to be replaced. Hot tub has seen better days and lights out in it also. Not to harp on the bad things but just know going in. It was definitely worth the value and was great vacation. Again a few dollars could make it a 5 star.

Needs to be more updated. No batteries for remotes, very disappointed with hot tub, replace it.

Kept up on inside,outside needs to be cared for, hot tub needs to be replaced,old and doesn't work properly,disappointed . Neighbors below down the street , partied all day and night ,very loud. I won't stay here again.

Very Disappointed

Cabin was very unclean inside of cabin & around decks. Master BR had an extremely used mattress that was in very poor condition & needs to be replaced promptly. All Floors had not been cleaned, Stove top had not been wiped down in awhile, microwave was not clean, Dust was on all kitchen cabinet doors & walls through out the cabin was covered in dust that had not been removed in awhile, live bugs in several cabinets. Cabin smelled as if had been closed up with no circulation of air. The game room had an even stronger smell of not having air circulated which was sure sign from all the dust everywhere. Most of whole Cabin smelled Musty. My family & I that stayed in the cabin has allergies which made out stay in the cabin quite uncomfortable. All the bedding/comforters/pillows need to be replaced as all were musty also & very used. Had we known the bedding was going to be in the condition it was we would have brought our own. There was also no TV in the other bedroom. Due to the amount that was paid to rent the cabin not to mention the additional fees charged for cleaning there should not have been any of the issues we encountered. We left the cabin in better condition & cleanliness as it was when we arrived. The unorganized cabinets that contained the pots & pans made it difficult to see what was available. Had to organize the pots & pans in cabinets - looked as if stuff had just been thrown in cabinets. Very dissatisfed. Having previously worked for Resorts cleaning rental Homes & Condominiums - the condition this cabin was rented in would have been highly unaccepted nor would it have passed final inspection & would not have been rented in that condition. I cannot imagine the owners being okay with the condition of the cabin also.

Perfect getaway

This place was so cute! The kitchen was well stocked with supplies. The basement was perfect for hanging out and watching tv. The rooms were very clean. Loved staying here! The driveway is a little scary, so I would advise bigger cars.
