Summary:
Located in a sleepy little beach town that time forgot. Where ancient palms shade your path and prehistoric creatures still roam the land. The slow monday sits on the edge of protected forest (a cassowary corridor) just a stroll from the beach. A modern take on the classic Australian beach shack, the house is designed for the Queensland tropics. There are two pavilions, one for living and the other for sleeping, all with large glass sliding doors that open up to let the environment in.

The Space:

Guest Access:
Guest will have exclusive use of the entire house, garden and pool during their stay. There is one room which is locked for storage.

The Neighborhood:
The slow monday backs onto a protected cassowary corridor with a maintained walking/bike track just 700m to the beach. If you follow this path and take a left at the beach you will find yourself in Mission Beach town centre where you can stock up on supplies, grab a coffee, or take in the beach view while you enjoy your glass wine or locally brewed beer.

While we personally prefer the quiet life, Mission beach offers everything from nature walks to adrenalin sports so there is no shortage of things to do.

Getting Around:
Mission Beach is a 1.5hr drive from Cairns Airport. There are a few car hire companies and transfer companies that operate from the airport. There are also two bus companies that we can recommend to get you to Mission Beach: Greyhound or Mission Beach Link.

We have provided two bikes and we are a short walk into the centre of town, so once you arrive you can park your car in the carport for your entire stay if you like.

Other Things to Note:
The house backs onto a maintained public walking/bike track that will take you along a protected cassowary corridor just 750m to the beach.

The house itself embraces the outdoors by having two seperate buildings and an outdoor deck that connects the living space from the bedroom and bathroom.

Interaction with Guests:
The slow monday is all yours. We won't be there to greet you as we want your stay to be private, but we will be on call at all times should you need anything.
