It’s a very charming property, beautiful ocean view, very well maintained. Great breakfast options and overlooking the ocean. The property manager Laura was super friendly, very helpful, took care of all our needs. It’s also at a very convenient location, easy walking to Doctor’s cave beach and great restaurants. There is a shortcut path (as long as you are ok with stairs) which makes it closer to these popular places than it appears on Google map. Highly recommend this B&B.

I had a phenomenal five-day, four-night, mid-September visit at Polkerris! Laura and her team really rolled out the red carpet and made me feel so welcome. I had the entire place to myself for my whole visit as no other guests were there, and I felt safe and secure in the gated facility as a solo female traveler. The building and lush grounds were gorgeous, especially the 🏊‍♀️pool and spacious veranda where I had breakfast every morning. They gave me the opportunity to pick from the menu what I wanted to eat each morning. The Jamaican Blue Mountain ☕️coffee and fresh fruit were absolutely delicious, especially the fresh 🥭mango picked daily from a tree in the backyard. My ground-floor room was convenient, comfortable, and spotless. I enjoyed spectacular views from my window. This b&b is safely walkable to the Hip Strip including shopping, dining, entertainment, a casino, and at least three free 🏖️beaches within minutes. Also, the ground 🚍transportation Laura arranged for me was reliable and safe. Even received a sweet parting 🎁gift when I checked out. I would definitely stay there again!

My husband and I felt very safe due to the security gates that surround the property. It is very clean and just so beautiful. The staff was absolutely wonderful, and the breakfast was amazing. We loved our stay here and looking forward to going back. If you are looking for a safe, clean, convenient place that feels like home, this is the place to be. They go out of their way to help you and assist you anyway they can. Thank you Polkerris Bed and Breakfast!!!!!! Oh, and the view while you are eating your breakfast is just so calming and breathtaking, along with the great service.

There was nothing overly unique about the property, and as I said in my other review, I overlooked the issues dues to the tremendous staff they employ that are in fact the reason people return. In my opinion, the owner Laura is out of touch with her guests and chooses only to tolerate them, checking sporadically to let her ownership be known, but does little else. My feedback would be to provide a couple of small plates or an area where guests can get a knife to cut a cake to celebrate a guests birthday, etc. if this is in fact a home away from home, allow people a bit more flexibility to feel that they can help themselves to some things they might need while there. As a world traveller and an experienced Airbnb super host as well as a former restaurant owner etc, I do not blame them for promoting their brand, but I rather appreciate transparency is such cases. The place is a bit like a fortress, and I do not live there, but by the sounds of how the owner described the outside world to guests, you would get the impression that Jamaica is not a very safe place at all to visit. Perhaps it is why it is like a museum, most things are there to observe and look at, but you get the impression that it's like that aunt you'd visit where you felt uncomfortable to move or touch anything for fear of corporal punishment, lol Everything looks nice, but it does lack personality and a feel of true Jamaican style life. Breakfast is at 8:30 am only!! Don't miss it or you'll pay!

The staff are great! My niece picked it for me and I was pleased with her choice. The view is beautiful! Now, my feedback would be that the owner Laura didn't seem very comfortable or friendly with guests of colour as she was with her European guests, she appeared disingenuous and at times almost afraid or somewhat stand offish. I found her husband though I never did get his name, to be warm and welcoming and only had two interactions with him in my entire stay, yet he made a much better impression. If you do book this BnB, book it for the amazing care by the black staff members they employ, who go out of their way for their guests, as they will be the reason many people no undoubtably return. Also, there was a dishonesty by the host/owner that did occur with a financial loss to me that was never made up and then a discount that was promised that never did show up. I am a person with a high level of integrity, and I personally felt the the owner Laura certainly could have done better in more than one area. Say what you mean, mean what yiu say and follow through. The rooms are well appointed, breakfast is very good, even though it is made off site, it is all you need until dinner out. The laundry service is over priced, but that said, we enjoyed our stay and tried not to let those things overwhelm us, like I said, the inconsistency by the owner and the dishonesty she showed us, was overcome by the beautiful personalities of the fabulous women they employ. Our stay at Polkerris Bed & Breakfast was an immaculate experience for my husband and I. We usually choose the all-inclusive resort option, but recently decided we wanted to support more local businesses and enjoy more authentic, natural food choices. The property is centrally located just a stone’s throw off the Hip Strip— exceptionally comfortable, with a relaxing view of the ocean. Breakfast was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, featuring fresh, all-natural fruits. Polkerris did not disappoint! The owners and staff were warm, friendly, and kind, making us feel right at home. A special thanks to Mrs. Laura for her generosity in graciously allowing us to receive our grandkids for two hour prior to our checkout time on such short notice due to an unexpected last-minute change in our original plans. We truly appreciate the hospitality and can’t wait to return!

Best vacation stay ever!!!!

My stay at Polkerris Bed and Breakfast was absolutely amazing!!! The hosts were very accommodating and hospitable. The room was big, clean and very classy. The most enjoyable part of my stay was the delicious breakfast. Every morning I had a plate of sweet, juicy fruits followed by a delectable dish. I’ve never been catered to in such style while on vacation. Most importantly, I felt extremely safe as the property has lots of cameras and access to and from the property was via an electronic system or using our room keys. This ensured that we had no uninvited guests on the property. When I’m visiting Jamaica again I know where I’m going to be staying. Polkerris Bed and Breakfast has easily become my most favorite spot because of the prime location, food, cleanliness, hospitality and safety!

We decided to give Polkeris Bed and Breakfast a try since it came highly recommended by another patron, and we are so glad we did. My family and I showed up as strangers and left feeling like friends. We felt at home, cared for, and loved on from the moment we arrived. The service provided by Peter, Elaine, and Terry was truly exceptional. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The location is ideal, within walking distance to restaurants, clubs, and the beach, making it easy to explore the area without hassle. The facility itself is homey, clean, and welcoming, and the food was great. Every detail made us feel relaxed and at peace during our stay. We will be returning for sure. When first got there the housekeeper there was totally awesome. Told us how to get to every thing. Very nice personality. The limeade they offer when you first get there is so delicious that definitely needs to be an every day thing. But every one there was nice great experience. I would stay here again if I go back to Jamaica

My recent stay at the polkerris BED and BREAKFAST was fantastic! The room was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated, with a comfortable bed that ensured a great night's sleep. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. I love me some Crystal. She brightened my day each time I saw her. Her sprit so humbling The location was perfect for exploring the city, and the breakfast served each morning was delicious. I highly recommend to anyone visiting Montego Bay. Last but certainly not least. Laurie and Peter were simply incredible people. We called Laurie almost everyday and not once did she provide bad services. Always was very pleasant and willing to help.

Beautiful clean property. Delicious breakfasts! Excellent friendly service from staff. Peter was very attentive to my husband and l. The only draw back was no A/C in the our bathroom... Apart from that all was amazing and we would definitely visit again and keep the bathroom door ajar!!

The best stay in Mobay! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home. We were welcomed with cold glasses of homemade lemonade and sat on the porch to enjoy the view. We were then given a tour of the room and shared amenities. The pool area is gorgeous, surrounded by flowers, fruit trees and sunshine. The game room offered table tennis, a pool table, air hockey, video games etc. We stayed in a premium king room. It was large and comfortable. The bathroom was equipped with a bidet. Each day we were offered fresh ice and water for our mini fridge. You can request daily house keeping, although we did not require it. Beach/pool towels are also provided. Daily breakfast was offered with traditional Jamaican breakfast options and European options as well. The b&b is away from the noise but only a short walk away. Although, the hill is a bit steep and the stairs can be a challenge. The b&b staff will call you a cab if needed. We walked to Doctor's Cave beach daily...about a 10 minute walk. We paid adult admission and we rented 2 chairs and an umbrella, al costing about $40/day. There isn't a microwave or kitchen available at the b&b to prepare your own food, so it is good to keep in mind when you are put and about, to eat while you're there and/or being something back that you can prepare in yoir room. So happy with our stay and we can't wait for our next visit.
