--Arkansas cabin
This cabin really exceeded our expectations! Well done inside and out. We loved the private gate and seclusion, even though still close to the highway. A nice place to stay.

great base to explore the area
This was a great place to stay while we explored the area and dug for crystals. The house was perfect for our family of four. It was somewhat secluded but still easy to find. You can occasionally hear a loud car pass on the road below, but it was not loud. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable.

Very well equipped and comfortable
Spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The owner was very helpful about everything and always quick to response. A perfect place for a family to enjoy the beautiful nature in Arkansans! You may hear the sound of the car traffic much in the daytime because it is located right next to the area's main road. It did not bother us at all since we were away exploring the places in the daytime and it was totally quiet at night. Highly recommended for a family fun!

Beautiful cabin!
The cabin was very beautiful and nice. The location is between Hot Springs and Mount Ida. It was a bit of a drive each way. Only complaint would be that the cabin is right next to the highway which I didn’t realize until we got there.

Nature getaways
This was a perfect little out of the way cabin. It is a well equipped spacious rental. If you have kids that like to explore and dig this is the place for them! Crystal mining is close and a fun experience. Plenty of nature to enjoy! Great experience all around!

Perfect cabin
This property was amazing! Plenty of room for the whole family. Great deck and fire pit area for fun conversations and s’mores. Crystal hunting in back woods was a highlight. Close enough to everything we needed and remote enough for peace and quiet. 10/10 recommend!

The perfect spot
The property is heavily wooded and private, very beautiful, and well taken care of. The owner was quick to reply to my questions throughout the stay and made sure we had what we needed. We did some crystal hunting while there and this location is in the perfect spot if that is in your plans. I’d easily stay here again if I’m ever back in the area.

Comfortable and well-furnished / stocked
My husband and I had a wonderful 10 night stay in this home. The space was perfect for the 2 of us, and would have also been great for another couple to stay upstairs. The king bed that we used was extremely comfortable. The bathroom and large walk-in closet were very nice. The kitchen had everything we needed, although we are spoiled so a Keurig would have been nice for our K-cups. Coffee grounds were supplied to use with the traditional coffee maker, so it wasn't a problem for us. We were able to watch Netflix on the smart TV, which was good because we didn't want to be limited to cable. The deck overlooked the highway, which was noisy with all of the cars and trucks driving by. But we got used to it. The back side of the house was surrounded by woods and a creek. That was beautiful. We felt secure with the gated entrance to the driveway. We enjoyed evenings sitting by the firepit, with a nicely stocked woodpile, sipping a glass of wine. Husband went fishing everyday on Ouachita, which was only about 10 minutes away. The interior of the house was clean and cozy, with nice decorating touches. It is clear that the owners take pride in the property and care deeply about the comfort and happiness of their guests.

Clean, Spacious, Beautiful Setting
My son-in-law and myself took my 3 grand children for 3 days of spring break to dig for crystals in the Mt Ida area. We hiked around parts of Lake Ouachita ate at several local restaurants. The kids loved the cabin and wooded surroundings to explore. Beds were comfortable and so nice to come back to this place to rest up for our next outing.

Wonderful property
We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. Much better in person then in pictures! Very clean and well stocked. We enjoyed hiking & crystal hunting around the property. Convenient location to town. Would definitely stay here again.

Avoid VRBO
To be honest, I cannot rate the actual house due to the fact we never made it in. We left our home in IL at 4am with 3 kids in tow (ages 11, 9, and 2) hoping to arrive by dinner. At around 7:30, we arrive at the house which has a gated entrance at the end of the driveway. I checked the email info for a gate code. Nothing. We contact the help line for vrbo. It’s now after 8pm and vrbo states the owner isn’t required to answer between 8pm and 8am. But before they attempt to look for a gate code, we need to send a pic of the gate to them because we sound suspicious. ?!? Sending pic. After confirming we are not criminals, they stated they couldn’t find any code and they would set us up in a motel for the night. At this time, hubby says no, I will walk all our luggage up the hill to the house before I go to a motel. (FYI it’s pouring rain) Vrbo didn’t want to hold and stated for us to call back if we needed further help. Hubby comes back down the hill (drenched) and says, key is not in the location stated in email. Call back vrbo and now told, they can’t find hotel so we will just reimburse you for anything you can find. And now the kids are screaming mad tired. Driving for an hour and finally get into a “hotel.” It had beds. I didn’t notice bugs. That’s about all I can say. Nothing open and now we’re hungry. Let salvage what we can from the groceries we bought BEFORE realizing we couldn’t get into the house. Then pitch the rest because we have no place to put it. “Sleep” in queen bed with toddler. Wake up at 8am exhausted. Call vrbo help. Since we can’t reach the owner, we’ll be happy to pay for 2 nights in a hotel…..WTH! (This is the time I flipped out) I explained to them the child situation and they said they would absolutely make sure we get 2 adjoining suites with full kitchens for our groceries (little late for that) and contact us as soon as the owner is reached. Drive to the hotel. None of their rooms join. Exterior entrance only. That’s a BIG no. Used other web site…Found a 4 bedroom 2 bath house ready by 4pm. No issues. Got settled. Started our vacation. Never called vrbo to tell them we went somewhere else. Figured they would check on us. Nope. 2 days later, the homeowner calls me direct. She’s pretty angry with vrbo. Says she was never told about our stay. Her son and co-owner was never contacted. Very apologetic. Gave personal cell # and offered 20% discount on another visit. I’m sure the house is great. Just don’t book through VRBO.

2nd time and again a pleasure!
This is our return visit for our 1 year wedding anniversary after I proposed here 2 years ago. We thought it would be a nice way of coming full circle. The property is gorgeous and very comfy. Betsy is excellent with communications and made sure everything was just right for our trip. Highly recommended!

Wooded retreat
The house was the perfect base camp for us while we hiked and explored the amazing Quachita forest on foot and with our ATV’s. It was very convenient with so many nearby trailheads. The home was clean and nicely decorated. We felt very much at home from the moment we unpacked. Thanks so much!

Great place near the lake
We had several things planned in the area including Hot Springs, Glenwood, and Lake Ouachita. Location was perfect and the cabin was very neat and clean and well stocked for our stay. Beds were extremely comfortable and bathrooms clean and functional. Overall we loved it and would be happy to stay again. Mrs. Betsy was quick to respond to any questions and make suggestions as well. 5 stars.

Just perfect!
The cabin was even better than the pictures online! It’s beautiful and it has everything that you could need. It’s secluded but right off the main road so getting around by car is very easy. We went crystal hunting and the cabin is so conveniently located near several mines. There was even a hose in the backyard that we used to wash off the crystals. The beds were super comfortable, the living room is just beautiful. If I ever go back to Arkansas I will definitely stay there again!!!

Wonderful Place to Stay
This was a great property to stay at with my family for spring break. We enjoyed exploring the property, playing horseshoes and sitting out by the fire. We hiked at Lake Catherine State Park and went to the Mid America Science Museum. I highly recommend going to the museum if you stay here. The kids really enjoyed it. Betsy left great information for restaurants near by and for things to do. If I had any questions she always responded quickly. We definitely will stay here again.

Amazing place to stay!
This cabin was super clean and had all the amenities. It's very modern. There were plenty of places to relax inside and out after a busy day of crystal digging and hiking. You are fairly remote with only one other cabin in the area. My family had fun exploring the forest surrounding the place. It is really beautiful. The gate at the entrance ensures privacy. We had no problem with the gravel driveway and our big van does not do well off-road.

Fun and cozy cabin!
Beautiful cabin in the woods, clean and nicely appointed with attractive decor. Two large bedrooms plus a loft and two full baths, can easily accommodate two couples and two kids. Lovely forest all-around, about 25 min drive to Hot Springs. The cabin is right off the highway so you hear vehicles passing by, but it still feels private. We loved our stay!

We had such a great relaxing time at the cabin. This is is so fully furnished with everything you would need. Extremely kid friendly with games. Went on a crystal dig which Mt Ida is known for. Will definitely be back

We didnt make it because of the ice storm we had and Arkansas did too. But i am sure it would have been amazing. We were bummed we didnt get to go. We would love to try it again though. We would like to book this one again in the future.

Amazing getaway in the mountains
This was a perfect getaway for me and my wife to relax. Beautiful location in the mountains and the fall colors were unreal. Betsy and her husband Larry was awesome at answering any questions and even brought us fresh firewood. We came to rest and do nothing but ended up staying busy the entire time. We went hiking on some of the close by trails, went up to the Hickory Nut Vista, went to Mt Harbor Spa for massages, and went horse back riding with John at Mt Harbor Stables. All of those were great and highly recommended. The cabin was very nice and outside the cabin was amazing with the woods to explore. Some people might find the road nearby a little noisy but it didn’t bother us at all. Overall amazing trip and we will be renting this place again soon.

Beautiful cabin/area. AC worked great. Sat tv. Beds were very comfortable. Deck is great. Only complaint would be pans were old or dingy. The owner communication was fast and friendly. Traffic noise from highway was bearable.

We’ve got what we needed! My second son just arrived and we decided to get a piece of calm away of everything to celebrate mine and my wife’s birthdays. That was a short but awesome stay! Fire pit at night outside and stargazing were amazing! Wish to come back again!

This cabin is wonderful! We’ve stayed at numerous places in Mt Ida and this is by far my favorite.!
This pretty and fully equipped cabin was perfect ! We loved relaxing on the porch each evening and exploring the property. We spent four nights and really weren’t ready to leave. Highly recommended!

Best place i have ever stayed
I have stayed in many different places but i can say this was by far the best place i have ever stayed before. The cleanliness was unbelievable. I have never been in a place before where the thought of someone elses germs on everything never crossed my mind. This place just felt like home. The beds were so comfortable with lots of pillows. The pantry is full of board games. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. The views are gorgeous and the owner is such a sweetheart and she goes above and beyond to make her guests feel at home. We will definitely be staying here again!!

Autumn Getaway
My family and I greatly enjoyed our stay here. The cabin pictures on VRBO are nice (and helped us make the decision to book here), but... they certainly don’t really do the cabin justice. As soon as we arrived - we breathed a sigh of relief, and took in the surroundings as we unpacked and settled into a very nicely appointed cabin. Betsy and her family have done a wonderful job providing a really nice place to escape. We look forward to coming back again as soon as we can!

Nice Cabin
Cabin was very nice and well appointed. Only disappointment was the road noise from the highway below the property. Lovely setting, but the noise from trucks and cars made sitting outside less enjoyable. Would have preferred a more peaceful outside setting.

Calm Amidst the Chaos
The cabin is lovely, well-appointed and clean. The owner was most helpful with all our questions about the surrounding area. Although our stay coincided with the 2020 Pandemic, we still found plenty of things to do. Our only wish would be for the cabin to be located a little further from the highway. 4.9 Stars!
