“I had a wonderful stay at Pen-y-bryn Lodge. The property is a beautiful historic building with a peaceful atmosphere, and the room was spacious, spotless, and full of character. The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming, making the stay feel warm and personal. Overall, a fantastic experience — I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone visiting Oamaru.”

“Stayed two nights at the property. Property was clean and great to have a kitchen. Location was close to town but not really walking distance. There is a supermarket and Warehouse close by which was handy. Couple of things could be improved - couches were so hard, really uncomfortable to sit on. The lock on the sliding door was really difficult to use, needs looking at. Tried to let management know on way out at 10am but reception not open! Was good to have a free carpark with the 2 bedroom...

“Wonderful historic building that was once a girl's boarding school. Very quiet location with great walking areas on the property. Very friendly and helpful staff. Delicious chocolates also made on the property. Would highly recommend. ”

“This is a perfectly servable older style Motel, while it is dated it is clean and functional. The guest laundry only being accessible 'by appointment' is not at all convenient. Parking is good but more care should be taken to do the small things. e.g. the ashtray out the front of my unit had the same cigarette butts in it for 3 days. There were their when I arrived and never moved.”

“Convenient location and comfortable and well appointed room - perfect for our one night stay in Oamaru. Easy parking and ground floor room made access very easy. Would not hesitate to recommend to other travellers. We didn’t use the on site restaurant or bar facilities so can’t comment on that.”
