“After Tokyo, we basked in the generously sized rooms here. It’s worth it to pay a bit extra for the premium rooms. The extra space is amazing. The location was very convenient for us. You can walk to the Gion district, shopping, the river, bars and restaurants. ”

“Excelente ubicacion y servicio.

“My father and I stayed at Ishibekoji Muan on his first visit to Kyoto, and Shin went out of her way to make our stay wonderful. Whether it was dinner reservations, taxi bookings or hunting down sake glasses that I admired, she made it all happen effortlessly for us. The property itself is immaculate and elegant, and comfortable to boot. A slice of hospitality heaven in historic Kyoto!”

“What a gem!! We stayed for 4 days. Had to readjust our arrival and departure date at last minute due to typhoon Shanshan☹️. They even refunded our last day stay without asking as we had to leave a day earlier due to approaching typhoon. We arrived at midnight by train and the manager met us on site to welcome us and explain everything. Having a washer and dryer in one machine on site saved us! We would do a load of laundry every night and in the morning have clean clothes. Saved a lot of time...

Frigobar vuoto. Niente onsen”

“This hotel is amazing! The room was very nice, and they make a great experience for travellers in the reception area. It’s walkable distance to a lot of sightseeing areas, and otherwise had a metro station and bus stops next door that can take you anywhere. We loved our stay here and would definitely stay again! ”

“This property is very close to Kodai-ji, which was very convenient. Also, the host washed, dried, and folded our laundry (a family of 5) while we were out seeing the sites. This was incredibly helpful. Another highlight of our stay was the wonderful welcome tea and tasty breakfast provided during our stay. Although it was a bit more expensive than other options, these benefits were well worth the additional cost.”

“This Ryokan is so lovely. Upon checking in they served me tea and waffles in my room and then left snacks in addition to the free tea and ramen in the hallway. The room was extremely clean and it was so nice to put on the yukata they provided and sit on the cool tatami floor at the end of the day blow drying my hair. The futon bed was also very comfortable. I will definitely stay here again if I return to kyoto. ”

“All was great. Clean, well-maintained, and easy to access. Great location, with Nishiki Market, countless restaurants, and grocery nearby. The only minor complaint I have is the slowness of filling the hot tub on the first day. On subsequent days it got better, however. The staff was very responsive through email.

“We passed one day in the annex: a separate building with all the comforts one can expect by a high grade hotel, and all the peculiarity of a traditional Japanese house. It is expensive, but if you want to make a time travel in the ancient Kyoto surrounded by a Japanese garden contiguous to a Shinto Shrine, this is the place to go.
The toilet is provided with an excellent washlet, the bathroom has a wooden tub with very hot water, for a strong relaxing experience.
