“It was in a perfect position to allow me to walk in the morning to the airport. The reception desk in and out was fast, friendly and efficient. The rooms were large, clean and quiet. The restaurant was good with a nice selection. Some of the staff a little inexperienced but not unpleasant. Very positive stay.”

“This hotel did not live up to expectations. Breakfast was poor—eggs Benedict tasted of vinegar, the hollandaise seemed premade, and there was no mineral water at the buffet. Very cheap approach to breakfast, especially in this hotel category. The rest of the buffet was limited to low-quality cereal and pastries, and the coffee was bitter and undrinkable. Our deluxe room had a squeaky, slippery wooden floor that felt unsafe, and the bed was one of the worst we had in Ireland. The whole place...

“A surprising bit of luxury in a small guest house. We stayed at the Glen Quarter for one night at the start of a coastal tour, but now I kind of wish we'd booked two nights instead. Our stay fell on a Tuesday night in the off season, so I feel like we barely sampled the charms of Kinsale and now I want to come back for a longer stand (this happens A LOT in Ireland... Charming smaller towns feel so welcoming and familiar, but are eclipsed by the glamorous bigger cities). But back to the Glen...
