Great spot for our bi-annual Thanksgiving gathering. Plenty of space to spread out and the hot tub and pool table were spaces to gather and unwind. Permits for beach fires were easily gotten twice when the wind was low enough.

We had 4 couples for our trip. Unfortunately one couple had to leave after only being there 3 hours due to an emergency. The house has fantastic living space with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Deck space was good however you cannot see the ocean from middle deck. My husband and I stayed in the middle floor master. The bed and bedding were outstanding! So very comfortable! The bathroom was outstanding as well. As far as negatives: We found cleanliness could be improved for sandy floors and dog hair. Comforters and bedding were thrown on bedroom closet floors not folded. Also, the supplies are limited. No paper towels, no trash bags, no dishwashing supplies and only one roll of toilet paper for each bath. Towels were limited and I would have liked more bath mats. For the price, I felt these could have been provided. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would rent again!

Easy fixes

We had 2 issues (WiFi, hadn’t changed PW in their files when property changed owners this year) Jr master suite bathroom door stuck shut. Called back at 5:15p 6-11-22 to cancel work order. Closed already. Not good for later travelers. Smoke free?? The master bdrm smelled like someone smokes all the time? Owner? Last renter? Maids? Also a sewage smell in that bathroom. Our oldest daughter and husband were the last to leave on 6-18-22 they deactivated the keyless entry 15 mins early (9:45a) and they were almost locked out with Yorkies in foyer. Received check out instructions via email an hour AFTER we were locked out.

We have amazing sun rises! Super close to everything! Loved walking right onto the beach! The place was so clean and huge we could have fit double the people we had! Will definitely stay again !

Huge property - great for large groups

If you have a large group with a mix of adult and kids, this is a great property to rent. Under new ownership in 2022, you can tell that they've taken steps to make the place cleaner. Great location and easy access to the beach.

Disappointed

My husband and I rented this house in 2019 during Christmas week for our family of 8 adults and 2 dogs. After a few years of not being able to travel, we all came together again this year with an added member, our 18-month grandson. It was sad to see the house had gone downhill so fast. The kitchen was unorganized and very dirty. The first day I accidentally spilled water on the kitchen floor and after wiping it up the paper towel was black. Under the kitchen sink was a pan to catch water leaking from the drain. We were there a few days before someone noticed it. It was very close to overflowing. The dishwasher was full of dishes and the outside trash cans were totally full. The refrigerator door had no shelves. The grill and fireplace did not work. In the bedroom to the left of the front door, the drain in the tub isn’t draining properly. In a house so big and the fact I listed a child under 2 as part of the group I was surprised that we didn’t find a high chair. I got in touch with Outer Bank Blue and was told they don’t supply them. Very disappointing considering how much money we paid to rent for the week. We went down to a thrift store and bought a really nice high chair for $5.

Stunning Views with Lot’s of Room

We loved our time at the Sandfiddler. The view is stunning and there’s plenty of room for everyone. The only complaint I have is that the cleanliness was not up to standards. They did offer to send someone out to re-clean, but with it only being a weekend trip and everyone’s belongings out everywhere it was easier to do the cleaning myself. There was one other issue that was taken care of. We did have a great weekend and enjoyed the home.

Loose boards were very noisy in the gust of the Nor’easter we went through there. Also sandspurs embedded in the carpet throughout the house made walking barefoot a non option. Otherwise no major complaints.

Propery is misrepresented

This property is misrepresented. The house was not very clean. The carpet is old and nasty. Sheets on one of the beds was stained and dirty. There were areas of the floors that were dirty and obviously not cleaned or vacuumed. No dish soap-bare bones-no extra trash can liners at all. Garbage cans at the street were all full when we arrived and stayed that way for another two days. The swimming pool had green water and debris in it and was not covered so it was an eyesore the entire time we were there. Very disappointed for the price I paid. I would like some kind of financial compensation. I look forward to hearing from you!

Extremely disappointed.

We are currently reaching out to Outer Banks Blue Realty to discuss a partial refund of the rental fee due to a long list of maintenance and cleaning issues we found on arrival. At this time, we cannot recommend this property to anyone. While the location was perfect and amazing, the property itself suffered from a lack of upkeep, basic maintenance and the very basic of house cleaning. It also was unsafe due to a pool cover that was full of tears and holes, didn’t fit the pool correctly and wasn’t installed correctly. The hot tub was also a major health violation and not cleaned between guests. We had to interrupt our stay multiple times to reach out to the leasing company and request repairs or cleaning be completed so we could enjoy the amenities that were offered in the listing. We will avoid the leasing company in the future and we will recommend to any friends or family interested in renting property do the same.

Great location on the beach

We were a group of 19 people, the house accommodated everyone easily. The public beach access is right next to this house, so you'll see the general public walking by. The gaming area is very congested, very difficult to play pool table in that confined space.

Comfortable...Spacious.....Beautiful view

Great experience...10 adults and two canine children. We cooked all our meals. The kitchen was well stock with a variety of cooking aids and utensils. Grocery store approx 10 minutes. Property located next door to the public bath house. My concern would be privacy while using the lowest sitting area...maybe a combination lock on the gate nearest the public walk thru and dropped tinted screening an option for the sitting area nearest the public access lane. Lovely place and will return . Oh, be prepared to get your exercise, steps are a must.

Great house, but needed attention.

Great kitchen; fully stocked. If you're impressed by the game room, don't be. You cannot shoot pool without opening a window or moving the table between shots. Foosball? Not without a ball! Details: several overlooked. For example two closet doors were laying against the wall next to the closet. The gas fireplace and grill didn't work until the second day of our stay since the gas was turned off. We called for service on day one, but the service tech left a door hanger stating that he came but no one answered the doorbell ( because it doesn't work!). I did leave my phone number when requesting service but no one called until.the third day.

Relaxing Family Christmas

Memorable family vacation

My husband, grown children, and granddaughter had an amazing vacation! It was late enough in the season that the beach was sparse but the weather cooperated! We were so happy that we could have our dog Ellie with us as well who couldn’t get enough of walking on the beach. Due to Covid we didn’t really go out much but the kitchen was well stocked and each of us made a gourmet meal to share. We should have read our email a little bit closer before we arrived regarding items to bring particularly the cleaning products and paper products. The grocery shopping is very nearby so we took care of that quickly and easily. There is plenty of room to find quiet and alone time, but we most enjoyed hanging out on the decks, by the pool and of course by the beach. We are hoping to make this a bi-annual trip!

Almost perfect

There were no problems with anything. Great communication with the renting agency. Alot of steps. Could use a personal elevator for older individuals. Overall I would recommend it to others. Thank you.

Not cleaned well at all!!

We had 16 people and a broken dishwasher the whole week. There was a broken ottoman and broken curtain rods. There was animal hair on the furniture and sliding glass doors had dog prints on them. The covid cleaning video we received was a joke. It was not cleaned well. I would not rent from here again.
