    Perched at the gateway to the Connecticut Wine Trail on a scenic state drive, this thoroughly redesigned, spectacular lake house is a sophisticated haven from city life.

    Boasting an expansive open floor plan, this bright and airy home features six beautifully appointed bedrooms and 3.5 modern bathrooms. With a maximum occupancy of 10 guests, the space is ideal for large families or groups looking to gather in a picturesque setting.

    Inside, theres a seamless flow of living spaces bathed in natural light. The heart of the home is the fully equipped island kitchen, featuring top-of-the-line appliances including two refrigerators and two dishwashers to make entertaining a luxurious breeze.

    Transition easily between the opulent living room with its inviting fireplace and multiple conversation clusters...to the dining area adjacent to the kitchen, perfect for festive gatherings... to the cozy den with a rolling coffee table stocked with dozens of games for all ages. An ingeniously designed work-from-home space (that tucks away behind custom cabinetry) is there if you need it. State-of-the-art central AC and a laundry room with high-capacity machines make daily life comfortable and easy.

    The bedrooms are havens of tranquility, outfitted with top-of-the-line mattresses. The bathrooms feature beautiful custom glass and porcelain tilework. Likewise, take advantage of creating a Master Suite by combining the Primary Bedroom and Office, with a full ensuite bathroom.

    Outside is a private oasis: farm fields and hills that rise above the lake, framing a 40 pebble-finished salt pool with an end-to-end underwater bench; an Alaskan yellow cedar hot tub big enough for 8; a private outdoor cedar shower; and a large, manicured yard and outdoor lawn games. The outdoor deck and dining area offer a teak dining table for 10, a gas BBQ, a wood fire pit and multiple teak seating areascouches and loungers, all with thick cushionsplus a jumbo hammock in the fruit tree orchardand plenty of parking.

    Off-Season Disclaimer: It is typical that spring cleanings and updates do not take place until late April / early May. If your booking falls outside of Memorial Day to Labor Day, please inquire as to whether or not outdoor furniture and equipment will be available for use prior to booking.

    Payment/Refund Policy: Unless otherwise stated on the property listing, all payments are non-refundable, however, should the guest elect to cancel its reservation, Marquis will use best efforts to work with the owner of the property to reopen the dates of the reservation in attempt to re-book the property (please note the decision to reopen dates is the owners'). Should Marquis be successful in re-booking the property for the original dates at the same or higher price than the original reservation, a refund less a 20% penalty, calculated as 20% on the total reservation amount, will be issued to the guest once payment is collected in full for the new reservation. If a new reservation is not made, the guest may use the property for the dates of its original reservation so long as payments have been made in accordance with the payment schedule established at the time of booking and Marquis is notified in writing 72 hours or more prior to the start of the reservation.

    Note: All payments must be made prior to check-in.

    VRBO charges the guest directly for their service fee and applicable taxes, while StayMarquis charges separately for the rental rate. As a result, you will see two separate charges at the time of booking-one from VRBO and one from StayMarquis.

    If there is a second installment, it will be collected directly by StayMarquis shortly after the first installment.

    Payment Method: Balance payments made with credit card are capped at $3,500. Payments over $3,500 shall be made by check, ACH or wire.

    Security Deposit Disclaimer: Although rare, accidental damage does happen during a stay. In lieu of a security deposit, guests can rest easy knowing that this property is covered with up to $25,000 of damage protection. Coverage details are provided in the booking agreement.

    While StayMarquis manages this listing, the guest experience is managed by the owner of this property, meaning all property preparation, arrival coordination, in-stay communication, and requests for maintenance tasks are performed by the owner. However, StayMarquis will provide you with a "Guest Experience Manager" who can help facilitate any request, from grocery shopping to organizing a private chef.

Magnificent vistas meet meticulous design

Magnificent open, country-scape views are experienced from every room in this stunning legacy home meticulously and loving renovated by its attentive and caring owners. Painterly sunsets stream across the sky and are breathtakingly reflected in the swimming pool. We adored this enchanting setting and loved just taking in all this home has to offer. The brand new interiors are first-rate; the chefs kitchen is fully equipped and the new bathrooms are elegantly finished. The furnishings, new mattresses and bedding, are all extremely comfortable. The layout of the home suited us nicely. The primary suite is separated by a pocket door, and offers a SW corner primary bedroom, bathroom, and beautiful home office with a murphy bed. Down a hall are three guest bedrooms and two off-suite baths, where our guests enjoyed their privacy. The attic bedroom/media room is designed to delight kids of all ages. We appreciated the abundant thoughtful touches, such as well-placed charges. The strong level of provisioning got our trip off to an easy start and the generator seamlessly assured our comfort. We loved being on Lake Waramug- just across the way- and having the Hopkins Vineyard right up the hill. The location is equidistant from key Litchfield county destinations in every direction and could not be better located or situated. We were uplifted by this stunning setting and heartened by the loving care and excellent service provided by all associated with this home. A triple A+ and elevated experience.
