Cute and Comfortable
Our family stayed at the White Clay Creek Cottage for the first week back in the States after living abroad for ten years. It was the perfect cozy spot to recalibrate and ease back into American life. We had our dog with us and it felt like a relaxed space where we didn’t have to constantly worry because it is clearly set up to be a dog friendly space. The decor is tasteful and chic while retaining its country cottage charm. There were tons of thoughtful details throughout the cottage, like a coffee station and toiletries. The cottage is located close to Newark, which was good for accessing shops, but far enough out of town to really feel peaceful. There is a great public park just down the road for walks with the dog. The only tricky bit, as others have noted, is the driveway. We found that passing the cottage, when coming from Newark, and turning around in a neighborhood further up the way allowed us to slow down in the shoulder before turning into the driveway. Very manageable once we worked out the safest approach. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend this property to others looking for a break from the hustle and bustle.
