Welcome to our cozy cottage retreat in the perfect location of Newark! Nestled against the backdrop of a picturesque horse farm, our 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom cottage offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle. Come and relax on the furnished deck and you just may see a few horses. The cottage is Pet Friendly and has a fenced in yard to accommodate our furry guests. 5 minutes to Deerfield Country Club, Less then 10 Minutes to downtown Newark, and just a few minutes to White Clay Creek Park.

We brought our Mastiff with us. After one day he settled in and was as comfortable as if we were at home. The fenced in backyard and deck was great! Our dog enjoyed exploring the backyard and lying down on the grass. Fortunately/unfortunately a big magnolia tree from the neighbors yard spread over into the backyard. It was just blooming for the year and was beautiful and fragrant. However, as the blooms started to fall, they were all over the backyard and the deck. It was difficult not to bring them into the house. The bedrooms are incredibly spacious, and the firm mattresses were perfect for us. We also hiked on several trails that were within close walking distance of the house.Both we and our dog really enjoyed them.

We needed a somewhat local place to stay while my house was sold before moving into the new house a few days later. This was the perfect spot for us. the home was nicely equipped for us and allowed our small dog to visit too.

Cute and Comfortable

Our family stayed at the White Clay Creek Cottage for the first week back in the States after living abroad for ten years. It was the perfect cozy spot to recalibrate and ease back into American life. We had our dog with us and it felt like a relaxed space where we didn’t have to constantly worry because it is clearly set up to be a dog friendly space. The decor is tasteful and chic while retaining its country cottage charm. There were tons of thoughtful details throughout the cottage, like a coffee station and toiletries. The cottage is located close to Newark, which was good for accessing shops, but far enough out of town to really feel peaceful. There is a great public park just down the road for walks with the dog. The only tricky bit, as others have noted, is the driveway. We found that passing the cottage, when coming from Newark, and turning around in a neighborhood further up the way allowed us to slow down in the shoulder before turning into the driveway. Very manageable once we worked out the safest approach. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend this property to others looking for a break from the hustle and bustle. Thanks for a great week!

Cute and Quaint Stay

We loved our stay here! I would absolutely recommend this place. We brought our two pups who felt right at home. The pictures don't do the house justice! It's much bigger than it looks in the pictures, which was a plus for us. The aesthetics are so cute but simple. Yes, the driveway lol. I'd say out of everything, that was the worst. But we, too, live on a very busy road and so it was nothing new to us.

Perfect cottage for extended stay

Perfect cottage stay and convenient proximity to Newark DE, Christiana, Longwood Gardens, PA. The owners are very accommodating. Extremely comfortable beds, sofas, and nicely appointed.

Excellent property, very comfortable!

It's a super cute cottage. Easy to find and a convenient location to Northern Delaware and Southeastern PA. It has a large kitchen and there's plenty of space for four people. The bed and living room furniture are very comfortable. We got a chance to speak with the host and she was very knowledgeable about the area. She had wonderful suggestions for restaurants, things to do, and places to visit. We will definitely be back!

Nice autumn colors.

The house was beautiful and nice. Only the way in and out posed any issue. Would definitely stay again. Perfect location and close to everything in the area. Lots of beautiful colors.
