Peaceful Retreat
We just stayed one night, and it was peaceful—truly a beautiful location. I would recommend this location for families who want a space in the country; it isn't convenient for restaurants or entertainment. The beds were uncomfortable and the linens were old.

A great Newberg rental!
This property was amazing and was the perfect spot for our getaway. We actually live in Newberg but wanted to get out of our house for the night and enjoy a night together as friends. The house was honestly better than the photos - it was very clean and fully stocked with pretty much everything! It had a cottage feel and had lots of little farmhouse decor but the kitchen, bedroom, and dining room spaces were very nice and perfect for guests. Also, we LOVED the backyard space. It had a trampoline, an outdoor kitchen and dining area, and lots of beautiful yard space. The yard backs up to a field with horses on one side and a wildflower field on the other - truly gorgeous! The hosts were super easy to communicate with and made the process so easy. We were pleasantly surprised by our stay and would recommend this house to other people who want a place with good space and a farmhouse feel.

Lovely cottage
We stayed only one night because we had an event to attend and then wine tasted in the area. Loved this charming little cottage and wish we had more time here. The house was cozy, clean and comfortable and the yard was beautiful. We enjoyed having coffee in the morning watching the sunrise. Great location - so close to a few of our favorite wineries. Communication with the hosts was great-they answered any questions very quickly. Can't wait to visit again!

A lovely getaway!
A lovely house in wine country with lots of room to spread out and an incredible back yard. We wish we could have stayed longer and we would certainly love to stay here again the next time we are in the area.

Great place to stay for a winery weekend
We (one couple plus a friend) stayed at Cottage by the Woods for a wine tasting weekend and it was the perfect place. Located next to a quiet horse farm amongst the wineries we had made appointments to visit, close to downtown Newberg. The cottage had comfortable beds, nice common areas, a wonderful outdoor space, and rustic character. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return to stay again for our next winery weekend.

Perfect Country Home
We loved our stay...unfortunately due to our family obligations for the wedding we attended we did not get to spend nearly as much time there as we had wished. Everything we could possibly need for our stay was there, it was spotlessly clean...we could not have been happier with the property. Our visits with Wilbur the cat and observing the horses were highlights of our trip. The home was so cozy and comfortable. Thank you!!

Wonderful , comfortable, relaxing
We three seniors thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cottage in the Woods. The house has been carefully and a painstakingly cared for and updated but kept with the original comfort and style. it may not be for everyone, but was perfect for us. A bit off of the beaten path, which worked well for us. The owner was very accommodating even inviting us to enjoy their local produce, grapes, pears, apples, tomatoes. Thank you for sharing our place with us.

CHARMING COTTAGE
Storybook cottage with antiques and vintage furniture and touches, immaculately clean and welcoming. Bed linens are very nice and surrounding property is lovely and perfect for outdoor relaxing. Would return for a longer stay if available sometime!

Darling, would rent again!
Quick mother-daughter overnight in wine country. The house was easy to find, it was adorable, and we slept really well. Very clean, comfortable accommodations. Gorgeous antique furniture pieces. Cooked dinner, watched the game, drank some wine, and enjoyed some down time together. Hosts were easy to communicate with and check in and check out was very smooth. Totally recommend.

Very nice property in the quiet countryside. The owner was wonderful and wanted the guests to have a worry free stay. Very few rules. Wonderful winery less than one mile down the road.

Peaceful Setting
This accommodating home has a very beautiful setting. Surrounded by nature with happy birds & fruit trees, we loved just hanging quietly before our wedding event. Comfy beds, generously stocked kitchen & various cozy seating spaces. Hosts are thoughtful, helpful & available if needed. This is a wonderful spot to be!

Excellent hospitality
We dropped our daughter off at George Fox university and the cottage was a perfect place to retreat back to and relax and reflect. Only 7 minutes from Newberg and you were out in the country. Highly recommend!

Sweet country cottage

Charming and cozy
The house was charming with lots of thoughtful touches. A great place to relax after a day of exploring and wine tasting. It would be a great place to bring the whole family, just keep littles away from the outdoor cat - he pretends to be sweet and friendly but he bites! We got hit twice, once while we were petting & playing with him, the second was unprovoked. My finger is still not fully healed three weeks later. Since he’s an unvaccinated outdoor cat, it’s best to just steer clear. Other than our “cat”-tastrophy, it was a delightful place that we’d love to revisit.

Wonferful Country House
We really enjoyed our stay at the Yamhill County Country House. We had reservations to do wine tasting with another couple at the Adelsheim Vineyard just further down the road. We planned to find a picnic location. The covered picnic tables in the back yard served perfectly. The house was just as advertized and very clean and organized for all our needs. Chris and Shary were easy to reach. Staying there was a highlight!!

Quiet, country cottage in a park like setting
We only stayed one night but loved the cute cottage in the country surrounded by beautiful trees, horses and nature! The cottage itself was extremely clean and a good size. We loved the yard that was shaded and had lots of places to sit and relax. We also loved the horses just beyond the fence and the friendly outdoor kitty that came to visit. The 2 bathrooms were small but the showers had amazing water pressure and lots of hot water!! Which is always a win! The house is filled with beautiful antique furniture but probably could have used an air freshener as it did smell a bit musty inside. Also, we would have preferred a keyless entry as the lock stuck a little and also it’s a little less convenient to have to keep track of a key. However, the AC was wonderful and worked great! Overall we had lovely stay!

Thank you for your suggestions! Chris ordered the keyless lock, because I have trouble with it too. We are pretty sure the musty smell is from the new sectional couch which is made from particle board. We’ve put freshener inside each piece in the storage under the seat and it seems to be helping! Family Wedding
The cottage is so beautiful and so peaceful! We explained that we would be having some friends over for wedding related activities/breakfasts as our extended family was from out of town. The hosts were kind and understanding, exceptional in every way. The property was more than we could have asked for and the outside area was perfect for a larger gathering with fabulous weather. The house itself fit us our adult kids and our parents well with plenty of room. Thank you so much!!

This home is located in the midst of beautiful wine country. Rural, scenic, private, and quiet. The home was immaculate and very well appointed. Great outdoor area for relaxing and BBQ. Situated with quick access to wineries, good restaurants and brewpubs. Coast is about 1.5 hours away.

20th Anniversary
One night stay allowing us to enjoy 2 wineries and lovely dinner in Carlton. So enjoyed the horses in the morning and ability to walk to a winery just up the road. Would love to come again. House was more than perfect. Comfortable, quiet, well stocked and well situated. Thank you!

Wine country retreat
This is an absolutely lovely home, perfect for a wine country retreat! Great location! The property is amazing,, beautiful magnolia trees in bloom along with other flowers and natural foliage. The weather was a little too chilly to enjoy the outdoor eating area, but how delightful it will be on a warm summer evening! Hosts were great, Sharey was even there to greets us we arrived. I will look forward to booking again, a little later in the summer.

Just book!
We had such a fabulous stay here. Although brief, a few of our highlights: - So clean and cute! Just what we needed from a long day - especially enjoyed the variety of tea to help wind down - fantastic location - easy 5-20 minute drive from everywhere we needed to be - easy communication and logistics when we were on a tight schedule, which was appreciated - Horses! They showed up right before we had to leave but truly made our stay to be able to see them frolick and play. The only wish we had was that we could spend one more night and explore the area further!

The *BEST* Wine Country Couple House
Located in Wine Country, this house is a perfect "launch pad" to your wine country retreat. Located close enough to downtown Newberg to get any necessities you might need, and far enough in the country to feel like you could be related to the farmers themselves. Just the right amount of niceties provided - not overwhelmed with accessories and a handbook of everything that you *NEED* to know, and had to read about the property (though there was a book with information about it). This stay was easy going, and intuitive. Was telling my partner that this would be my *PERFECT* place to live, out in the country. Loved the sunrise coming in through the window to the loft sleeping area. 11/10. Would stay again.

A true gem!
I came to Newberg to visit my daughter who attends GFU. I’m so glad I discovered this place. It was a perfect place for a quiet mother-daughter weekend getaway. The place is amazing and the view from the back deck is spectacular. We loved feeding the horses apples and cuddling with the owners friendly cats that would come by. I was impressed with how well stocked the kitchen was with all the supplies we needed to make some food We really felt at home. The owners were responsive and very nice. The only thing I would note to others- be sure you feel comfortable climbing up and down a ladder to get the loft. We will definitely stay here again. Loved it!

Excellent Spot
Our stay was so much fun at this quaint little cottage. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet and all that the area had to offer. Wineries within bike rides, horses to feed, and even the cat from the photos visited us outside! We even cooked dinner in one night because it was so homey :) We loved our stay and hope to be back someday in the future. Thank you for a wonderful time!

This house was great for an overnight stay to visit some wineries. So many were within a 10 min drive, and a few were even walkable. The property was clean and easy to find. Beautiful views.

Romantic getaway in heart of wine country
Lovely tiny house with everything needed for a romantic weekend away. Terrific hosts. We fed horses, enjoyed watching the outdoor cats play and enjoyed fresh tomatoes and grapes from the garden. Went jogging in the neighborhood before spending a bucolic afternoon at several wineries. Plan to do it again!

Gorgeous as advertised
Beautiful property in a lovely location. The cabin is set up and stocked well. I will be installing a rain shower head when I get home. It is a wonderful feature they have installed in the bathroom. WiFi was fast enough for us both to telecommute to work as well as make zoom conference calls. 5 star. Great stay. Priced well. Wine Country Wedding Weekend
Of all the days I have spent out in beautiful Oregon wine country and wished I could just stay the entire evening … now I know I can! Because this perfect little cottage is just minutes away from some of the oldest, most reputable vineyards in all of the land ! Every detail is so thought out- down to the most necessary kitchen utensils and condiments . Wanted to stay in bed and watch the horses all morning . The hosts were so flexible and accommodating , even leaving the AC on for me so that when I arrived, it was nice and cool. I literally am already looking for my next free weekend to book another stay !

Special retreat
I booked this place as a quiet solo getaway; a much needed recharge and reboot time. What I didn't anticipate was how magical it would be was to be surrounded by the horses. It was a calming and amazing experience. As someone from the city, I really relished this. I wish I stayed longer! On another note, I have been to many vrbo/air b n bs and this kitchen was the best and most completely stocked- they had a full spice rack, sugar, salt n pepper, popcorn.. (FYI to potential visitors, if you're like me, you never know what to bring/buy at the store) all the cooking utensils you'll need. Simple effective grill on the porch-- it's immaculate, there are 2 ACs and fan in the loft. Coffee maker was confusing, but I'm a ding dong with machines.. it was a slice of heaven!!! I hope to visit again. Thank you!!

What a wonderful little cottage, my boyfriend and I spent a couple nights here and it was amazing! We got to pet the horses (first time for me) it was such a sweet experience! The deck was perfect! I brought a few kitchen items with me, but the place was well stocked with all basic necessities. So happy to have found such a cute little place, the owners were very kind and responsive; while also giving you privacy 😊

Peaceful retreat in a farm setting
We spent a week in this beautiful cottage and we loved it! There is everything you need to cook all three meals of the day, a nice table outside, a bbq, a comfortable sofa bed to relax, and a modern shower which "shows" you the temperature of the water via a set of LEDs on the showerhead which change colors (blue, green, red) 👍. The bed in the mezzanine area was very comfortable. We also enjoyed feeding apples and carrots to the rescued horses. Shary and Chris were quick to reply to any questions, and Chris even tested the speed of the internet for us as we had to do some teleconference calls. Overall, everything was really great and we will stay there again when we are back in the area.
