“When I called re a florist in the area for fresh bouquet, the manager said he'd be happy to get their Gardener to cut flowers and make a bouquet for me. Wow, that was so nice! When it was brought to our room the girl would not take any payment. The flowers were lovely and went on my mother's grave. I really appreciate how they went out of their way for me. The room was spotless and the a/c worked very well. Plus we enjoyed having a living area and kitchen. We were within walking distance...

“Worst stay of the year! Our room was directly above the bar. The live music from the bar vibrated our room until well after 10pm Friday and Saturday. The beds were ultra cheap and hard. Sleep was impossible. Floors were creaky and stairs were long and steep. The room was dark with only a few lamps, which half the bulbs were burned out. The outlet in the nightstand didn’t work so had to charge phone out of reach. They couldn’t pay me to go back.”

“Advertisement is extremely misleading. The rooms are not "sound proof" in slightest. The heater went out in mine at night. This is likely because it is a jury rigged space heater that was stuck in the wall at some point to replace another heating method. The heater in the bathroom did not work at all and there was no blinds. This allowed someone to see into parts of the room at night and you would not be able to tell (there were thin curtains). Critically, into the bathroom is one of these...

“Room was exceptionally clean and beds were comfortable”

“Everything about this hotel was excellent. But the best thing of all was the breakfast. They had more items than I could possibly count. My favorite was the “Daniel Boone Inn” country ham. It’s the best around. They of course had biscuits and gravy, eggs, potatoes, hash brown casserole, fantastic coffee and 10+-varieties of bagels. It didn’t end there. I should have videoed it. If you’re going to the high country of North Carolina you should stay there and see for yourself.”

“Location to Grandfather Mountain was great. A/C was great. Kitchen does not have some basic utensils and is not fully supplied (as advertised) - fortunately there is a Food Lion nearby where we bought what should have been supplied. Sofa and chairs did not feel clean and we put a sheet over the sofa. Beds and bed linens were good and clean. But, great place to have a family get-together to attend the nearby Highland Games at Grandfather Mountain.”
