Cozy Historic Beach House only Steps Away from Beach and Fishing Pier!

This well-equipped, historic 2 bed/1 bath house has semi-private beach access on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay and is located next to the Ocean View Fishing Pier and rooftop bar and grill!
It is about 1000 square feet in size, and has 1 queen size bed, 2 twin size beds, and a queen sofa bed in the living room. Fast WiFi, 50” smart TV in the living room and 40" smart TV in the main bedroom. Window AC units for air conditioning and each room is heated with thermostat controlled infrared units. It is within close driving proximity to Virginia Beach Oceanfront, Chic's Beach, Downtown Norfolk, Old Dominion University, and Christopher Newport University.
The house sits only about 100 feet away from the beach, with a short path from your backyard past my other rental house to access the beach. There are no steep dunes or stairways to navigate, no streets to cross, and the access is not shared with the public.
Housebroken and well-behaved pets are allowed with payment of the pet fee. This property will be deep cleaned and sanitized between every reservation. This is a recently acquired property and will be continually improved with summer profits.

We were duped into renting this property that was described as "On the beach". When I got the address after booking, I looked it up on the map & it didn't look like it was on the beach. So I messaged the owner minutes after booking to ask if the property is truly on the beach, I got no reply at all. I wanted to cancel the booking but when I looked at the VRBO policy, it seems we actually had to be staying at the rental already in order to file a complaint. Booking also said no cancelation allowed. So we were forced to go ahead with our booking & just hoped that the property is really on the beach. Unfortunately, it wasn't. I messaged the owner again & now he elected to reply (likely because we were already on the property) saying the property description on the page was correct. I beg to disagree & I have the screenshot to prove it. So, that's the no. 1 complaint here - this property is NOT ON THE BEACH.! There is a house directly behind it which is on the beach - not this one. Other negative observations:1. There are MICE!!! My husband had to buy mouse traps & block the gap under the back door.2. No water view at all. The views are the street in front, parking lot on the side & house at the back.3. It's an old decrepit structure.4. Inside is dank and gloomy. You need to keep curtains closed so no one can look in.5. Furniture and appliances are old. Bed we used had old & saggy mattress which was not good for our backs. 6. Bathroom mirror lights don't work.

Great stay, the house is very conveniently located (50 feet to the beach, 0.5 mile to a Harris Teeter). There's some beach stuff (chairs, a beach cart, an umbrella, a few body boards). A few things to consider when renting this house:1. Bring a few knives. The ones that are there are super dull2. Bring spices, sugar, and salt 3. There's no AC in the smaller bedroom. Wasn't a problem for us, it wasn't very hot, and there's a large fan4. Wi-Fi signal is pretty weak (barely any in the backyard), but the speed is okOverall we've all enjoyed our stay a lot.

It's was ok

We reserved the Little House on the water that was right on the water. When we showed upit was a totally different house and couldn't even see the water. It was not at all what was advertised. I would have never reserved it if I knew that. The only reason I reserved is because I wanted to be right on the water. It really feels like false advertising. The photos in the add are of a completely different house. Won't be renting this place again. I really feel ripped off. I reserved the lil blue house on the water but I was right on the side of the road next to the parking lot. It was supposed to be a romantic weekend getaway on the water with my woman but that's not what I got at all. I will never rent this property again and I really feel ripped off and that someone should owe me money but I guess I just got ripped off

Property very clean, steps away from Oceanview fishing pier.

Property is clean and neat. However, a tad rundown. Very close to the beach as described and next to the Oceanview fishing pier. Communication with property owner excellent. Overall a good experience.

Location is great. Our dog loved the beach. Air conditioners and fans were great. Washer/Dryer challenging to figure out. No spices, just salt and pepper. Mattresses wrapped in plastic making it hot to sleep. No outlet in the bathroom to dry your hair. Clean.

Girls weekend

The grass had not been cut for a long time. The fire pit was not maintained and had excessive amount of cigarette butts in it. The chairs by the fire pit were moldy and dirty. Handrail in shower was missing. Bedroom air conditioner was making very loud noises. Very limited dishes and glasses in the kitchen.

Exactly what it says it is

Older house, decorated appropriately and kept clean. Everything you need for a stay at the beach. Great location. Parking lot at the pier, which is next door, stays busy all night during the weekend. Lots of motorcycles on the road all night that you will hear. But those things arent the fault of the property. All in all, this house is great for what it's for....a clean place right on the beach.

Beautiful beach!

House was old (as described) and a bit shabby but very clean. Even a few minimal upgrades would improve it immensely. However the price was right and the location for that price was great! The fishing pier with the restaurant/bar at the end was a bonus. Beautiful beach to walk. The weather did not cooperate with us - we were a week too early but you can’t change the weather!
