The North Shore Resort in Myrtle Beach has a lot of charm, but our stay last week came with a mix of highs and lows worth noting.Check‑in started pleasantly enough—the staff themselves were kind and welcoming—but the setup made things harder than it needed to be. The front desk is small, crowded, and loud, with multiple associates talking over one another in a space that echoes. As a petite woman, the counter height was almost comical; it hit my chest, and even the petite associate checking me in had to peer over the monitor like she was trying to see over a fence. It made communication difficult, and for guests who rely on reading lips, it would be nearly impossible. Our suite had a couple of issues right away, but maintenance deserves credit—they arrived quickly and resolved everything without hassle. Housekeeping, however, was more complicated. We had to coordinate around an elderly family member to make sure trash and towels were actually picked up and replaced. One day I even had to call for a return visit, and the attendant asked if we still had the “do not disturb” tassel on the door… which we never used. Likely just a mix‑up, but still inconvenient. The resort layout itself is lovely, and the amenities have potential. We did wish the gym opened earlier so morning workouts could happen before beach and pool hours. And while the DJ at the pool might be fun for some, having it every single day gave the space a spring‑break‑party vibe rather than a relaxing vacation.
