“This is the perfect place for a quiet family getaway. House has everything you could ask for with comfortable beds and pillows. Full kitchen with spices on hand. Game room and dvds on first floor. Incredible views from balcony and snorkeling sets, kayaks, boogie boards etc. Private, primitive snorkeling site that can be reached scrambling over lava rocks (stairs washed out)- Not for small kiddos or anyone needing assistance, but most people would have no problem, especially since it’s so private...

“The house accommodated us very well for our family of seven. The views were breathtaking from the lanai and from each room! If you enjoy a quiet, remote location and having a studio suite in a lower level (with a small bathroom) that is segregated from the rest of the living area, (which was a surprise for our family), this place is for you. The beauty of the surroundings is accentuated by the steep hills surrounding the property. A true respite!”

“We had a comfortable stay. Could have used a bigger clearer sign at entrance - but house was right there and as it was in the picture. Plenty of room to park multiple cars and plenty of space inside. We were a little concerned about no AC but temp went down to 65 at night and was quite comfortable. Cannot drink from the tap - this was a surprise (was it noted on listing?) but host provided bottled water so it was not an issue - just a surprise. We were disappointed that we did not meet the dogs!...

“The views from the Lanai were absolutely gorgeous. Black Pebble Beach was just down the road to enjoy the sunsets and the sound of the ocean. It was about 45 minutes from Kailua Kona. The drive didn’t bother us as we drove all over the Island anyway. It was nice to go back to a peaceful community after a long day. “During our short stay we were able to visit Volcanoes National Park, the Green Sand Beach close to South Point, go night snorkeling with Manta Rays in Kona, visit several beaches, and even drive up Mauna Kea on our last day in Big Island (night flight) - we could not have achieved this and more without staying in such a perfectly placed location, one with unique landscape on its doorstep (the local history of lava flows was truly fascinating).
