Thanksgiving on Lake Weir

Our week stay at the lake house was great. The house was roomy and well equipped with all we needed. The properties owners were friendly and easily accessible. They made sure to let us know if we needed anything to just reach out. They even brought us a serving platter for us to use on Thanksgiving for our turkey. The outdoor space is beautiful. We enjoyed the hammocks and witnessed some beautiful sunsets. Would definitely book again and recommend.

Great Vacation for Family

This was the first time staying at this location and we loved it. The house was dirty when we arrived but after speaking to the owners, they handled the situation like professionals. We stayed for the week, and it was perfect! Great location, beautiful beach area and plenty of room for 3 small families. We will definetly be back!!

Comforts of Home

This was our 3rd year staying here! A week long vacation with family. It has all the comforts of home. Our days were spent on our boat, tubing, jet skiing, swimming & just relaxing on the screened porch. Already made reservations for next year! The owners were available if needed.

AMAZING!

This home was absolutely beautiful to stay in. Although we stayed outside most of the time on the beautiful beach and in the large screened porch, the house was great as well. Plenty of space for a family to enjoy. We did not even leave the property; with plenty to do right there on the beach; our family went on the kayak, stand up board and fished from the peddle boat, caught 30! We were very happy with our selection of this home! The sunset will not disappoint. Owners were pleasure to meet and immediately available. This is a must visit again longer next time home!

Great Lake House

Had a great time at this property with my family. We visit Florida every year and this was our first time staying here. Couple things to note that I didnt see in the description or check in details: 1. A gate code is needed to get to the house/driveway. Luckily the owner was nearby upon arrival so that worked out. 2. The house (bathrooms mainly) could use a good deep cleaning. 3. Owners are very responsive. We had an issue with the outdoor hose and it was addressed early the next day. We enjoyed the canoe, bags game, volleyball, lake and sunset views, etc! Would recommend this home to others!

Another Fantastic Week on Lake Weir!

This was our second year booking this house and taking our Grandkids (and great-grands) for time at the Lake. It is so wonderful for all ages! We launched our boat nearby no problem and kept it anchored in 2 ft water the whole time with no issues. The older kids loved paddling over to Gator Joes and tubing.The younger one loved the beach and the clear shallow water. The porch was the perfect gathering place for mornings and after sundown. The umbrella for the table in the water was great sun relief after a couple of days. Thanks Joe & Whitney for the stay. We are already planning our 2024 Lake trip!

Family Lake Trip

The lake house accommodated our family well. Everyone had their own space and the back porch and yard is where we spent most of our time. The sandy beach area was shallow and good for young kids and pets to play. We enjoyed cooking our meals in the kitchen and grilling outside. I would recommend bringing propane if you plan to use the grill and we did have to clean it before use. There is a nearby Publix to purchase any groceries or necessities and two lake front restaurants, which were both very good.

Accommodating & Relaxing

This was our 2nd summer staying here and have already scheduled our 2024 vaca. We spent most of our time enjoying lake activities, playing cards/games on the screen porch while watching the sunsets. Our family of 11 fit comfortably throughout the house and plenty of room in the kitchen for cooking meals. Kitchen is stocked with all the pots, pans, utensils you will need. Loved that there is a washer and dryer! Joe & Whitney are very responsive, if needed!

Our favorite vacation 3 years running

As always, our family loved spending time at your beautiful lake home. This is our 3rd summer in a row coming here. The house is spacious and has all the amenities for cooking and 2 very good restaurants on the lake that we love taking the boat to and enjoying a good meal or just having an appetizer and drink. We spent a lot of time on the back porch and the lake. We look forward to coming back next year! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

So cute!

We celebrated my husbands 40th birthday here. It was a perfect getaway for family and friends. Joe lives next door and was more than kind. My husband can’t wait to come back. We brought our boat, a floating island for the kids to play on, and the house had a paddle boat, Kayak, and paddle boat to use. The boat launch was 2-3 miles down the road.

Amazing Sunrise and Sunsets!

Enjoyed our visit, spent most of our time hanging out with family and friends and enjoying the lake and the views. From -15 in Chicago to 75 degrees was a bonus. The owners were helpful and friendly!

Relaxing and fun

7 of us traveled to Florida from Texas on a sibling trip. The house was the perfect size for us. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and we cooked up some delicious steaks on the grill out back. We spent most of our time on the screened in porch or in the hammocks. The sunsets are spectacular. We only had to contact the host once with a coffee pot concern and it was resolved right away. I would advise bringing your own TP though if there are more than two or three of you traveling together for more than a few days because the two roll limit per bathroom (was really one and a half provided) will not last.

Lots of potential and beautiful view of lake.

The house needs a good cleaning. We had to clean the bathrooms before using, shower curtains need to be replaced as they are filthy, refrigerator had dried up spill on bottom, floors were also very dirty. I do have pictures to show some of the dirtiness in the house. Also, one of the bedrooms bed frame was broken, so we picked up inflatable bed to use during our stay. We also were locked out of house coming back to house at night due to battery on keypad needing to be changed. Property manager/owner phone number on VRBO reservation did not answer text or call. We called VRBO and they gave us a different phone number for owner after they also tried to call owner without luck. After continuous dialing we finally got hold of owner who said he would see what he could do! What? We are renting his place and couldn't get in! I think he thought we didn't know how to use keypad because he told me he has never had any issues. Anyway, owner showed up and was also unable to get keypad to work. He did eventually get us back into house by breaking into a key lock box attached to wall. This house has a lot of potential. Some of the upgrades are really nice, but everything is dirty. Outside screened porch is wonderful to sit out and enjoy the beautiful view of lake. Hammocks under the trees are a great touch and were enjoyed. A valid working emergency number in case of emergency should be provided. Renters should not have to call VRBO or police to get help with a keypad issue. We stood outside for about an hour with an infant and kids, not fun!

Nice lake house & town

Very nice lake house for a family to stay at. You can tell the owners are experienced hosts. The kitchen had everything we needed - even some cooking spices which was nice! Loved the beach and the paddleboard and kayak. We enjoyed the screened in porch room very much - it had a lot of furniture in it and nice lighting for nighttime. We played lots of card games at the big table in there and it was a great place to hang out when it was raining. The little tiny town was really cute with some great restaurants. House was equipped with smart TV’s and good internet. I’ve seen some reviews complaining about guests having to wash their own bedsheets on the day of check-out but it wasn’t really a big deal because the washing machine is a very large one that fits a lot of linens. There was some dog poo around the yards that I had to scoop myself but the owners said it was from the last guest that had a dog. So sounds like that was a one-time mistake. Only other thing is I wish we would have been notified that there was construction going on at a the next door house on the same property…although you couldn’t hear it from inside the house, so that’s good - just a minor annoyance when you’re relaxing in the hammock. Overall we had a great time at this house and I would definitely recommend it for a family vacation.
