Yearly family reunion

This is the third year that our family has stayed at A Place in the Woods (Mille Lacs Lodge). The lodge itself was roomy, clean, everything in good working order and perfect for our large, extended family. Also, the outdoor area has always been kept clean, mowed, no mosquitoes and expansive for many outdoor games. We had a few campfires with wood from the well-stocked wood pile and picnics under the shelter. And went swimming at the beautiful beach at Father Hennepin State Park in nearby Isle. A thoroughly enjoyable weekend!

Family reunion

This is the second time we have stayed at A place in the Woods for a family reunion. Wonderful accommodations for the 18 of us that stayed there, and the 20 others that came for a day. Our host Tammy was very helpful and responded immediately to questions or concerns. Lots of room inside to gather and still be able to spread out. The kitchen and refrigerator are industrial size and well equipped. The dining area could sit 30 easily. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms clean and well stocked with towels etc. The pool table and foosball were a big hit with the teens. The grounds were well taken care of and spacious. NO mosquitoes! Great firepit. The pavilion and picnic tables allowed us to gather and eat outside too. Many games and play areas outside. We were very happy with our stay and will be back.

Second Stay, Family Reunion

This was our family's second time to stay at this property. We had a fabulous time. The kitchen area makes meal prep a breeze for a large group and the outdoor grounds gave us plenty of space to play yard games and volleyball. Great way to spend a long weekend!

Perfect for cousins weekend

We stayed here with our adult cousins for the weekend. The place was perfect for everyone to hang out and enjoy games inside and in the yard. Tammy went above and beyond to make the stay incredible. There were even more games and amenities than listed and we had an amazing time!

Girls weekend

We had a wonderful girls weekend at the Lodge. The gather spaces are hard to beat. Our whole group could be together in all the spaces. The kitchen was awesome and fully stocked. We are already looking to book again at a coed group. Thank you Tammy.

We call ourselves “The Old Timers Elk River Wrestling Extravaganza” group!!!!

We were a group of 18… had planned for 20, but 2 backed out staying overnights. WE….LOVED….THIS…PLACE!!! It was warm, cozy, comfy, accommodating, roomy, clean… we really can’t say enough!!! Highly Highly recommend!! There are a few of us that want to bring other groups back ( our own (families) ❤️ And this doesn’t even mention how sweet and wonderful Tammy is ❤️ THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR VRBO!!!

Low key weekend

The accommodations and layout of the property were perfect for a bunch of friends to hang out. The industrial kitchen was stocked with pots and pans, utensils, and plenty of dishware. It was nice to walk around the property, play yard games, and sit around the fire. All-in-all it was just what we needed for a low key but fun weekend.

Wonderful Place!!

This place is perfect for a large group stay! Plenty of room to sleep! And lots of bathrooms so there's no waiting. It was so clean and we had everything we needed there, and lots of yard for any games. Tammy is wonderful to work with! I also loved that they had cute merchandise to purchase there, it was a great touch! Definitely recommend this Cabin in the Woods!

Amazing family stay

Our family had a blast during our stay at Mille Lacs Lodge! The kids and adults all enjoyed the spacious lodge and outdoor areas. Memories were made making s’mores around the campfire, playing volleyball, cooking meals together in the kitchen, and playing wiffleball in the large outdoor space. Tammy (the owner) was very responsive to all of our questions and quick to provide help when needed. We loved our time there and highly recommend it!

Annual Family Summer Vacation Year 7

Exceptional family vacation in Minnesota. Everyone was thrilled with their time spent at Tammy's Millie Lac Lodge. A kitchen that has it all with a cooler that holds anything you need to keep cool and a freezer that let us get all the Ice Cream the Grandchildren could eat. So much fun! Campfires every night, a playground and outdoor shelter with plenty of room for fun meals outside. No insect bites was a huge accomplishment and we will brag about that for years to come. (There is a magic at Millie Lac Lodge that will always be in our hearts and memories. Grandpa loved his vacation and was given the opportunity to enjoy 12 wonderful Grandchildren and family from five states.

Home away from home.

We were very happy with our stay. The property had everything we needed. It was clean and spacious. There was a gas station near by if we ever ran out of anything, and state parks were close too for out door activities. Really recommend this property to others.

Beautiful and very comfortable place for a large family.

This was a beautiful property and it accommodated our big family very well. Lots of things to do indoors and outdoors. The host was amazing and responded quickly. Lots of things were provided and available for our usage. We will definitely be back!
