Hotel vicino a Orton Community Park - Penrith

“I have used this hotel four times this last year as a stopover for trips from south Devon to Scotland and overall have been pleased with the facilities and service provided. Meals have been excellent and the rooms comfortable and clean. My only concern has been with the service in the dining room: the staff are all delightfully friendly and welcoming but on each of my visits service has been very slow - it took 40 minutes last night for drinks we’d ordered to arrive and our meals a further 10....

Good value though and worth staying in. Recommend access from A6. Poor TV reception, no doubt due to location but presumably could be boosted.”

“We stayed at the Kings Head last weekend and had a lovely time. The pub itself is gorgeous, decorated beautifully, it is cosy and inviting and located in a lovely spot by the stream.Although the actual car park itself was small this was no problem as we parked literally a couple of minutes away on the lane, perfect as it allowed the opportunity to see a tiny red squirrel busy in a nearby tree. “Bathroom was filthy and covered in white powder (possibly plaster dust). Reported it but staff took no action which was very disappointing, especially considering the high cost of the room. Very understaffed and overall poor value for money. Which if booked somewhere else in hindsight as I've stayed in far better lake district hotels for less money.”

“Brilliant location for our Dalesway walk and staff were just brilliant as our time changed a couple of times during the days walking meaning we were later than expected but staff dealt with brilliantly and always with a smile”

“Excellent room, we had an executive suite and the view was marvellous as was the huge four poster bed. Breakfast was excellent, one of the best we've had, proper cumberland sausages - what can I say!. Staff were also excellent especially Joanne the manager who went above and beyond to make our 4 night stay very enjoyable. We had 2 meals in the hotel pub and again the food was of a very high standard, one meal was a sunday roast which I found absolutely superb. Will definitely stay here...

“We had a wonderful stay at Appleby Castle. We were made so welcome by hosts Sally and Peter. The room was adequate for a castle. “There were an INSANE amount of communications, but they were unable to articulate exactly where this place was located, including not including the room number, which made it extremely difficult to find, and that there are an INSANE amount of steep stairs. Disappointing. Definitely not worth the money.”
