It is a little quirky to say the least, it was built in the 1930's, and is a beautiful property out in East County, but easy commute into San Diego.
Check in was easy, call the number posted, you are greeted by friendly staff, and a complimentary glass of wine.
The hallways and bedrooms are dark paneling, so I could see that would not be everyone's taste. Look at the room photos. folks.

The parking was pretty straight forward and simple, that's huge when you just want to unload and relax... no stress lot. I really appreciate and recognize the efforts made by the staff and owners. “We planned a last minute San Diego trip to the zoo for my daughter although this hotel was 25 min away it had the best reviews. Upon arriving everyone was welcoming, our room was ok we did find some hair in one of the two beds so we only used one and the restroom wall was a little dirty. There was hot breakfast in the morning it was good. Overall a great stay there was a lot of kids that weekend apparently there was some type of swim competition but it was still fairly quiet my 2 year old slept...

“This place is awsome! Will be my go to place when we stay in SD from now on...for the price cannot beat this. Clean, no roaches/bugs, comfortable beds, small but clean pool, AND breakfast! We stayed at a place in a neighboring city that was only 10 dollars cheaper, had roaches & no breakfast. Met one of the maintenance workers and he was kind & helpful. House keeping staff is obviously doing an amazing job too!”

“Family that manages the motel are lovely and helpful, room is gorgeous and well-designed, newly renovated. Decor is great. Little touches everywhere like bottles of water, good coffee with the good sugar, shampoos, lotion, etc. its just very welcoming and lovely to stay at-- highly recommend!”
