The snow was a little hectic for the drive to Elk trace but it was defiantly worth it. The main house is huge and magical with it snowing. The room me and my love stayed at was private, had Wi-Fi, and was pretty huge for two people especially for the price. The owner was very nice and super sweet, she would wake up early making homemade breakfast every morning. 10/10 I would stay here again. I bet it's just as breath taking in the summer. It's about a 10 minute drive from Elk trace to town or to the Springs Resort.

This was our Christmas gift to each other and our first trip to Colorado! They were extremely accommodating. Gave us a free upgrade to the cottage which was very cozy and comfortable. The property was very dog friendly, clean, breakfast was great, and the people were so friendly. Our stay was amazing and we absolutely plan on coming back.

The staff was horrendously rude to me and very discriminatory toward a disabled person. The road to their property was closed and when I called to ask for directions, the person who answered told me she had no "patience for the relay call" yelled at the operator and then hung up on me. I have a hearing disability so needed to call through the relay service. I tried for 2 hours calling again and again. And no one would answer the phone. I was only 10 minutes away from the hotel yet I could not find my way there. I had driven a very long way, more than 3 hours and due to the long weekend there were no other hotels available. I was forced to turn around and drive all the way back home.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was amazing! Evelyn is such a lovely woman to work with. The breakfast was always excellent and we always felt so welcome. The only issue we had was finding the actual property, which was difficult since our gps would not take us the right way. Otherwise, it was a lovely place to stay and we would absolutely stay here again!

Wonderful hosts and staff. The property is a little eclectic but we came to enjoy everything.We especially liked socializing with other guests and staff on the huge deck that surrounds the lodge. And we enjoyed the four legged occupants as well. We will be back!

Very nice location! But we had nasty big spiders in cabin that were upsetting! One on the bed! Toilet wasn't cleaned and had an orange moldy look in bowl. Breakfast was good! If i came back i would need to stay in lodge as the spiders made us upset

Thank you very much for your visit and input, I do not like spiders myself, we do our best to keep critters at bay but summertime on the ranch with open doors makes it difficult, your toilet was clean however we have well water that contains alot of iron therefore the orange ring in bowl even though we have a big filter sytem installed.

First time staying at a B&B and it was not a disappointment! The lodge was gorgeous! The surrounding area was peaceful, green and good for the soul. We had the downstairs totally to ourselves. The only down side was our bathroom was down the hall and not attached to our room. The breakfast was amazing! No continental breakfast here! You get the whole smorgasbord! Lol staff was amazing and Andy was the highlight of conversation! We were remote but only 7 miles from town. Was perfect! I would definitely recommend a stay! We plan on coming back!

Special Place in Paradise
Elktrace BnB sits on the most beautiful property I have had the good fortune to visit. The 120 degree wrap-around snow capped peaks (mid may), the distant lakeview, the 100s of acres of perfect short grass, the horses, dogs, birds and tall pines.... Paradise. And only a ten to fifteen minute drive from everything you need. The property features a typically large, upscale 'Mountain Style' lodge with many modern upgrades. Hanging flower pots everywhere was a nice touch. The breakfast area was large enough to spread out, especially with the deck right there. But the main dining table was very social with many great conversations. Breakfast was family style- serve yourself and extensive. The 8 to 10am time window is generous. Some of the rooms were in the lodge, some next door. I stayed in The Annex which is a pleasant five minute walk down the drive. This was again, a very large Mountain Style' 2 story 3 bedroom house that would be perfect for families. I had the downstairs King. To be truthful, the bed was pretty soft and the bathroom was pretty small. The ultra modern shower was tricky at first but very cool when I figured it out. There was a nice couple upstairs in 'The Master King Loft'. This worked fine, though NOTE: some might not like sharing the kitchen and Dining/Living area. EVERY one at Elk Trace was so great, I doubt you would have a problem. Just book a room in or next to the lodge if that is a concern. You won't go wrong at this 'Special Place in Paradise'.

An absolute beautiful location with an amazing view and a staff that makes you feel like family. The space was larger than expected and extremely clean. Don't get me started on the breakfast... it was full of options and taste great. I wish Evelyn coups cook for me every morning. The only unexpected negative was the dirt road ...take it slow and watch for pot holes. The sweet puppies were an added bonus and super sweet.

Our stay at Elk Trace was great. The view from the place is breathtaking. Breakfast each day was perfect. The hosts thought of the little details. Had everything that we needed for our stay. We were traveling with kids and felt very welcomed. Highly recommend!

Property is beautiful and rooms are unique and comfortable. Hosts are kind and attentive. Only issue was the hot tub was not operational during our entire two night stay.

My girlfriend and I had been camping in Colorado for a number of days when we decided to treat ourselves to a stay at Elk Trace. It was great. I liked driving down gravel roads, this way and that, arriving in the middle of a serene property. We stayed in a cabin near the main house. Many rooms in the main house, including a spacious, comfortable dining and lounge area. There’s a grand piano and a pool table for those who are so inclined. We enjoyed the jacuzzi located in a lower level. Lots of fun and very comfortable. Our cabin was cozy and clean. Best of all we’re hostess Evelyn’s fabulous breakfast spreads. Fruit, bakery, eggs, bacon, sautéed peppers, onions, mushrooms. Really great!

Amazing!
Our stay at the Elk Trace bed and breakfast was amazing! It was way more than I ever had expected. Very clean place. We stayed in the Buffalo room and had plenty of space for all of our family. Evelyn and Tom are amazing people and made us feel very welcome. We will be staying there again. So if you are looking for a nice away from the crowd, quiet, beautiful place you need to check them out, you won't be sorry!
Barron is so loving. We enjoyed having him around!

Beautiful, Peaceful and Relaxing
Such a beautiful place! The great scenery surrounding this location and seclusion makes it a fantastic place to "get away" from the city. We had plans, but because Elktrace Bed & Breakfast was so beautiful and peaceful, we decided to just hang out on the property. The owner, Evelyn, and her staff are super friendly and just all around good people. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this location for a beautiful and peaceful retreat!

Very beautiful surrounding and the Cabin were very comfortable and cozy! Great view all around. The Host is very nice and hospitable! The only thing we wish we have known is that we will be sharing the Cabin with others, all guests were all friendly and we all end up playing games together when we are in, everyone congregated well and we made new friends as results. Even thou cabin was shared but we still enjoyed the trip and get to know new friends! If you are looking to have Solitude time, make sure you call the and ask for Private cabin.

A wonderful place
This is a beautiful place and the owners are very friendly. We used the Family Suite which was a generous amount of space and included one large room with three beds, attached to an additional living and eating area, with additional sleeping space! We utilized the hot tub and dry sauna one evening, and it was very clean. Stargazing here is magnificent and we even got to meet the three horses. We were provided with a home-cooked breakfast each morning, before heading out to visit the town.

We are used to booking hotels but this is such a pleasant surprise. We snowshoed around the property and the surrounding views were magnificent. Highly recommended for families. We were also close to a good sledding hill which is an alternative for those who do not ski. Property owners were helpful and welcoming.

I can only speak for the guest cottage, as i have not stayed at the other properties, um, its fantastic, rustic, quiet, a 180 degree of mountain ranges, Horse drawn sleigh and carriage rides on property, and to start if off every morning, is a bountiful breakfast spread, freshly made before you in a gorgeous kitchen, dining area, i mean the fireplace has a fireplace in the middle of it, i know sounds strange but thats what it is, super cool. I didnt get to meet the whole staff, Mrs Jones and her sister are consummate hosts, we stayed for 3 nights whilst skiing wolf creek, it is 20 miles away, and worth every extra minute of the drive.

Beautiful property. Cottage was clean and spacious. The owner served a homemade breakfast every morning. Delicious.

Fabulous place to stay, very cozy! Close to town, skiing and hiking! Evelyn and Tom are very welcoming and make a delicious breakfast!

All the ladies in the household were so nice and clean! Beautiful place to stay in. Also a great view! Fast and easy check out. From what I saw if other hotels this was the best place to stay in the whole town!

Go look at the starry sky!
This property was magical. We were really fortunate to come in a few days after they received a week of snow and it turned the property into a winter wonderland. The drive in was breathtaking with the mountain range in full view. Silvia and Evelyn were wonderful host. Delicious breakfast and coffee. They gave us lots of good information on the town and the activities we had planned for our stay. We stayed in a little cabin right outside the main house and had all the amenities and privacy. Overall our stay was very cozy and just the kind of place you’d like to decompress and relax together.
