This past week I had to come back to PCB for a 4 night stay. I checked in the afternoon of Tuesday August 26th. I noticed when I got to my room that the WIFI was not working. I made the front desk aware of the deficiency and was told it was working. I explained there was no connection to their one account name. I explained that I work for the Department of Commerce and I needed the WIFI connection to work while I was staying in PCM. They said they would turn in a referral to the IT department. I checked the next morning and they said they made the referral but hadn’t had a reply. I asked later in the day and no change.
The next morning (Thursday 28th) I came down to check out because I had to be somewhere with WIFI. I even showed the from desk clerk and housekeeping person in another room that there was in fact no WIFI connection even though they kept saying it was working. It was then they understand what I had been saying since Tuesday night.
I had to leave and relocate since there was no real solution to activate the WIFI service and I was already a day behind in my work expectations. It was then I was told I would have to pay for the next 2 nights even though my departure was due to unmet services offered by your hotel. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing; trapped in a hotel that does not meet the basic technological support or relocate somewhere else and pay additional fees.
