“everything was clean and spotless , first night we had a meal in the restaurant which was was very , retread back to the bar which had a great hot open fire , are room was spotless and the staff where friendly and helpful , will return at some stage , highly recommend ”

The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them making the whole stay a real pleasure. We would have no hesitation recommending this hotel as a great place to stay.”

“The breakfast was superb. We tried the evening menu special which was a Pheasant breast.It wasn't the best I've tasted, it was nicely presented but it was rather salty and dry. The bed mattress provided a good nights sleep and the room was spacious and clean. Well worth the 5 stars”

“As in previous reviews, no internet connection. Strangely able to get netflix on both bedroom tv’s but not on the main one. Lovely living space & bed very comfortable. Good location on site and all areas of park dog friendly. Would return. Could possibly get better quality frying pans. Both warped when using. ”

“Our stay at Elton’s Escape was lovely. The caravan is nicely decorated with a cosy, welcoming vibe, and its location made it perfect for visiting Ambleside and Windermere. The living/dining area was fresh and welcoming, unlike many dog-friendly caravans which often carry an odour. Wi-Fi was excellent too. When we arrived, the caravan hadn’t yet been cleaned after the previous guests, but once we called the helpline, the on-call cleaning team responded promptly and resolved the issue. One thing...

“Had a great family break. Lodge was spotless and in a great location. We all enjoyed our stay and would book again without a second thought. ”

“The property was immaculate. Every room was very clean and tidy. Very comfortable for 2 adults, not sure how 4 adults would feel as it might be a bit on the small side, especially if you are tall people as the ceilings are low. Parking might be a bit tricky. There is space outside for one car, although the road is narrow at that point. There seems to be space on the next road along though, or as the owner suggests in the nearby pay carpark. Its handy to walk into Ambleside or down to the lake as...

“The stay at the cottage was good. It is positioned on a busy road but it quiets down later at night. There is a shop at the petrol station that has everything you will need for the stay and close to bus tops to take to Ambleside and Windermere. The beds are on the soft side but not uncomfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped but he had to buy paper kitchen towels, bin bags and dishwasher tablets. All in all, our stay was great. We would stay here again. ”
