“Lovely overnight winter stay. Hotel and rooms are spotless. Comfy bed with quality bedding, everything felt of good quality. Excellent shower and modern bathroom. We chose the Black Lion as we prefer to stay and eat in establishments that do not allow dogs and there aren't many now ( I know some people would disagree and want to take their dogs everywhere but we all need a place we can feel comfortable in and every other venue in town seems to accept dogs now so dog owners have plenty of...

“The room and the whole facility was spotless. Staff were friendly and helpful. The spa was well equipped and beautifully maintained. The personal treatments were also to a very high standard. The food was to a extremely high standard yet the whole facility was very relaxed and easy to settle in to. ”

“Excellent friendly hotel. Ample parking, clean and comfortable rooms. Restaurant excellent. Owners are very friendly. Nothing too much trouble. There was a minor set back with checking in. Check in from 4 but door locked. It was a little frustrating as I’d been working all day but wasn’t waiting too long. Hopefully was a one off as I will be surely checking in again when I’m in the area. ”

“Off to a bad start due to the, otherwise very pleasant, owner pouncing on us as we arrived following a day of travel. We really just wanted to be left alone to arrive and unpack. Not the right time to attempt to convey information and instructions as we unpacked from the car. Nicely situated geographically with a lovely view of the sea from the front facing windows (the only windows unfortunately) and front door.
