“This room was perfect for what we needed. The suite was very spacious - it was nice to have the lounge area to relax in after a busy day. It was walkable to Waitangi Treaty Grounds as well as the main strip and beach, though there was a beach and cafe right there too if you wanted. We knew we would be out and about most days so didn’t upgrade to the beach view and that was fine for us - but if you plan to chill during the day and look out you probably want to upgrade. “This is such a lovely retreat, all credit to manager Kelly and her family. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome and it was much appreciated. The refurbished rooms were nice, clean and warm and the private shower was awesome. We had an awesome time and were lucky to see two kiwi on the grass near the bush even though it was raining, and we heard lots more. It was really magical!”
