The 12th arrondissement of Paris is one of the arrondissements before even considering the immense Bois de Vincennes which is attached and is twice its surface area. Excluding the neighboring districts of Bastille, Gare de Lyon and Bercy, the 12th arrondissement is located in the faubourgs.
La Coulée Verte, or walkway are located near the Place de la Bastille, at the crossroads between Rue de Lyon and Rue de Charenton, and extends to the Peripherique, following an old railway line, which transported goods to the port of the Arsenal.
